We are honored to be named Community First Credit Union’s School of the Month for March. This month's theme celebrated schools that excel in arts, music, and cultural events, and we couldn’t be more proud to be recognized for the vibrant, inclusive, and community-driven programs that make our school shine. From our students’ incredible performances for the community to the live music featured in our theater production, our Fine Arts programs foster creativity, passion, and connection. One of our most anticipated events, Multicultural Night, is student-led and draws large crowds from across the community to celebrate the diverse cultures represented at Ridgeview. Whether inspiring future musicians through feeder school outreach or supporting causes like Empty Bowls and holiday card drives, our students use their talents to uplift and unite those around them.
A special shoutout to our incredibly talented and dedicated Fine Arts teachers—thank you for inspiring creativity, building community, and helping our students find their voice on the stage, on canvas, and in the spotlight.
This recognition reflects the heart of Ridgeview High School: a place where artistic excellence meets community impact. 💙🐾

Ms. Fortner’s Chemistry students explored acids and bases using a natural pH indicator: red cabbage. They boiled the cabbage to extract flavin, a pigment that changes color depending on the pH of a solution. Then, they tested various substances to determine if they were acidic, basic, or neutral. This was a fun and visual way to dive into chemical reactions! #PanthersRISE

RISE Scholar Spotlight - Responsibility

In Forensic Science, our students stepped into the role of crime scene investigators by analyzing five different sand samples! They examined six key characteristics—source, color, shape, sorting, size, and mineral content—to determine how each sample differed. This hands-on lab reinforced how even the smallest particles can provide big clues in forensic investigations. Understanding these subtle differences is crucial when evaluating trace evidence from crime scenes.
Science in action at Ridgeview—because every grain tells a story! #PanthersRISE

Our Little Paws and Early Childhood Education students had an unforgettable day of hands-on learning and adventure at the Jacksonville Museum of Science and History.
From exploring interactive science exhibits to diving into local history and getting up close with fascinating animal displays, our students were fully engaged and curious every step. It was a fantastic opportunity for future educators to guide and support our youngest Panthers as they experienced museum learning in action! To top it all off, the group enjoyed a scenic lunch near Friendship Fountain, with a breathtaking view of the St. Johns River and downtown Jacksonville. #PanthersRISE

Congratulations, Valkyrie and Sophie! We proudly celebrate two outstanding Early Childhood Education seniors who have officially earned their Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials! Through countless hours of hands-on classroom experience, dedication to professional development, and a true passion for working with children, these future educators have demonstrated what it means to lead with heart and purpose. Their success is not just a milestone—it reflects the impact they’re already making in our Little Paws classroom and the bright futures they’re building in early childhood education. #PanthersRISE

Congratulations to Ridgeview High School juniors David Whaley and Sarah Benardini!
Last weekend, David and Sarah proudly represented Clay County District Schools at the 28th Annual Sunshine State Scholars Conference in Orlando, hosted by the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Education Foundation. Selected as two of Florida’s top 11th-grade students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), they joined over 110 student-scholars and their families across the state for two days of celebration, innovation, and exploration.
During the event, these outstanding scholars participated in dynamic problem-solving think tanks, networked with STEM professionals and university representatives, and explored exciting postsecondary pathways in Florida. From interactive college workshops to receiving new iPads from AT&T, it was an unforgettable experience!
We are incredibly proud to share that David was selected as one of only 37 scholars statewide to receive a one-year full tuition scholarship generously provided by State Farm and the Florida Prepaid College Foundation. This incredible honor recognizes David’s academic excellence and promise for a future in STEM!
We couldn’t be prouder of these Panthers and all they’ve accomplished. Their hard work, leadership, and commitment to learning are truly inspiring. #PanthersRISE

RHS Scholar Spotlight - Spirit

Pictured are ten of the fourteen talented artists from Ms. Rich’s General Art classes who had their work showcased at this year’s County Fair! Students used various media—oil pastels, colored pencils, graphite, and markers—to bring their creative visions to life. Their outstanding artwork didn’t just earn ribbons… some of it earned cash prizes too! We’re so proud of these creative Panthers and their well-deserved recognition! #PanthersRISE

Ms. Generazio’s art students let their imaginations run wild with a spring-inspired paper basket challenge! Each student designed a basket with a unique theme—think bees, butterflies, sunshine, superheroes, and more. The class then participated in a fun critique and voted on the most creative design. The winner? They hopped away with some chocolate bunnies! #PanthersRISE

Mr. Crews’ Math for College Liberal Arts students kicked off a new financial literacy series this week with an interactive budgeting game! Students navigated real-world scenarios, balancing monthly budgets, tackling unexpected expenses, and making decisions to try to save for the year. After the game, they reflected on the choices that made the biggest impact and sparked thoughtful discussions on achieving financial independence after graduation. #PanthersRISE

The next ESE Advisory Council Meeting is April 22nd, 6 pm, at Rideout Elementary School.

Mrs. Yancey’s World History students are bringing learning to life as they explore the continent of Africa through food! In a delicious hands-on activity, students made seafood turnovers inspired by African cuisine, similar to empanadas but filled with crayfish, crab, and African spices. To make it their own, each student created a custom dipping sauce using sour cream, herbs, and condiments after a fun discussion on the familiar dishes each spice is commonly used in. The creativity (and flavor) was off the charts! #PanthersRISE

Students in Medical Skills and Health Science Foundations recently put their knowledge into action as they learned and demonstrated Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques for adults, children, and infants. From delivering effective compressions and breaths to practicing as both single and two-rescuer teams, these future healthcare professionals built life-saving skills. They also trained on how to use an AED and practiced strong team dynamics with clear roles and communication — all essential components for anyone entering the healthcare field. #PanthersRISE
