In Ms. Klaes’s astronomy class, students worked collaboratively to solve a puzzle where each card represented a clue through numbers, colors, and shapes. By piecing the clues together, they discovered the arrangement of the periodic table and gained a deeper understanding of how lighter and heavier elements are directly connected to astronomy. This hands-on challenge not only reinforced key science concepts but also pushed students to think critically, problem-solve, and make meaningful connections across disciplines. #PanthersRISE

IB seniors in Ms. Skrzypczak’s Biology class utilized a virtual scanning electron microscope to investigate specimens at an advanced level of detail. By observing three-dimensional images at very high magnification, ranging from sugar crystals to spider fangs, students were able to see the distinctions between electron and light microscopy clearly. This experience not only reinforced their content knowledge but also expanded their appreciation for the role of technology in scientific discovery. #PanthersRISE

Spotlight on Ms. Wilson's theater classes

“Theatre has personally helped me to find passion in something, all while making true connections with people. I wouldn't be who I am today without Theatre.” – Kenna Beasley, RHS Junior

In Ms. Wilson’s theatre classes, students gain more than performance skills—they discover their voices, build confidence, and form lasting connections with others. From scene work and stagecraft to costumes and set design, theatre at RHS is a place where creativity thrives and students grow both as artists and individuals. #PanthersRISE #OneClay #nationalartsineducationweek #CCDS Fine Arts

National Art Education Week Spotlight: Ms. Wilson

As part of celebrating the vibrant fine arts culture at Ridgeview, today we spotlight Ms. Wilson, one of our outstandingTheatre teachers!

Ms. Wilson is in her 8th year of teaching and is a proud graduate of The Florida State University, where she earned a degree in Theatre Studies with a minor in English.

It teaches them to be brave, curious, and empathetic towards the world around them.”

Through her passion and dedication, Ms. Wilson helps Panthers gain not only theatre skills, but also confidence, empathy, and a stronger voice both on and off the stage.

AP Statistics students in Mr. Boone’s class brought statistics to life by rotating through hands-on stations to explore different types of data distributions. They rolled dice to model uniform data, tossed chips at a target to create skewed data, and tested their precision by stopping a timer at exactly five seconds to generate symmetric data. By recording and analyzing their results, students connected real-world experiences to uniform, skewed, and normal distributions, while also applying the Empirical Rule to deepen their understanding. #PanthersRISE

Ms. Fortner’s Pre-IB and Honors Chemistry students dove into a density cube challenge! Using two different methods, they calculated densities to uncover the identity of four mystery cubes. Along the way, they sharpened their lab skills, applied significant figures with precision, and discovered how math and science come together in the lab. #PanthersRISE

Ms. Johnston’s Digital Design 2 students have been sharpening their creative skills by learning how to use one of Illustrator’s most important tools—the pen tool. To prepare, they played the Bezier Game, an interactive online challenge where students trace ghosted outlines of shapes by clicking and dragging to create perfect curves and lines. This activity helped them understand how anchor points and handles work, building the muscle memory needed to move confidently into Illustrator. By simplifying complex shapes into a series of curves and straight lines, students developed a strong foundation in design techniques while also having fun competing to complete the puzzles. #PanthersRISE
