Last night’s 9th Grade Expo was truly something special as we proudly welcomed our Class of 2030 Panthers to Ridgeview. Seeing our campus filled with students and families, and the excitement and conversations happening throughout the evening, was a wonderful reminder of what makes our school community so strong. Thank you to our students, teachers, counselors, and staff who showed up, shared their knowledge, and helped make the night welcoming and meaningful. We had a packed house, and it was exciting to see our newest Panthers begin their high school journey with confidence.
A huge shout-out to Ms. Tucker, our College and Career Coach, for the outstanding job she did organizing the event. Her leadership, attention to detail, and genuine care for students were evident throughout the evening. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the 9th Grade Expo such a success and such a positive experience for our Class of 2030 families. #PanthersRISE

Mr. Ley's Economics students collaborated to create a poster presentation, either in Canva or on a backboard, to illustrate their understanding of the four major concepts covered during the week's learning. They addressed concepts such as the characteristics and functions of Money, created a hierarchy of liquidity for investments, discussed capital investments, and evaluated the current GDP per capita of different nations compared to the US market. #PanthersRISE

Ms. Fortner’s Pre-IB, AICE, and Honors Chemistry students brought stoichiometry to life through a hands-on chalk lab. Students wrote and balanced the chemical equation for producing chalk (calcium carbonate), calculated their theoretical yield, and then produced chalk by combining aqueous solutions of sodium carbonate and calcium chloride. After filtering and drying their product overnight, students calculated their actual yield and percent yield, seeing firsthand how math and chemistry connect. The best part was testing out their finished chalk. #PanthersRISE

RISE Scholar Spotlight - Responsibility

Students in Ms. Ryan’s class experienced psychology in action as they interacted with a horse and trainer to explore classical and operant conditioning. Through this hands-on learning, students observed how classical conditioning uses cues, such as a clicking sound paired with pressure, to help an animal learn a behavior. In contrast, operant conditioning relies on rewards and consequences to shape actions over time. This real-world experience connected to their AICE Psychology curriculum, including the Fagan elephant study, and helped students see how learning theories apply beyond the classroom in meaningful and memorable ways. #PanthersRISE

A huge shoutout to Mr. Bruchak and his Carpentry students for the excellent work they are doing to improve our campus by safely demolishing an old deck that had become an eyesore. Students began with proper job-site preparation, wore all required personal protective equipment, and learned safer, industry-aligned demolition methods throughout the project. This hands-on experience not only strengthened their technical skills but also highlighted their teamwork, responsibility, and pride in their work. They did a GREAT job, and we truly appreciate their efforts in making our school a better place!#PanthersRISE

Culinary students in 3 and 4 took on a sweet, multi-day project, crafting homemade ice cream sandwiches from start to finish. On day one, students prepared their ice cream base and mise-en-place for their cookies. Day two focused on churning the ice cream, freezing it on sheet pans, and baking fresh cookies. On the final day, students used cookie cutters to shape the ice cream, assembled their sandwiches, and finished them off with a chocolate dip, bringing creativity, precision, and delicious results together. #PanthersRISE

Our cadets spent the day at the Area 10 Drill Team Championships in Georgia on Saturday, and we could not be prouder. Our Armed Basics Drill Team placed 5th out of 12 schools, showcasing their hard work, focus, and commitment throughout the competition. Here are a few highlights from the day. Way to go,

RHS SWAT, sponsored by Mr. Sadlo, rolled into Skate Night on February 4 with a powerful message and lots of school spirit. Club members proudly wore the tie-dye shirts they created during last week’s meeting, using their designs to spark conversation and raise awareness. The activity illustrated the harmful effects that toxic chemicals found in vape and e-cigarette flavorings can have on the lungs of users. The message was simple, creative, and impactful: “Color your shirts, not your lungs.” #PanthersRISE

Learning healthy habits starts with hands-on experiences! Ms. Haynes’s students explored nutrition by sorting foods into groups and discussing how different choices support a healthy lifestyle. Through this interactive activity, students practiced critical thinking, fine motor skills, and real-world decision-making, all while building independence and confidence. We love seeing meaningful, practical learning happening every day at Ridgeview! #PanthersRISE

In honor of School Counseling Week and our school counselors' profound impact, we celebrate our entire School Counseling Department as our Staff of the Week. These six ladies are indeed an asset to our school, and they showcase everything it means to be a Ridgeview Panther!

Ms. LaPierre’s Culinary 2 students turned the kitchen into a hands-on learning lab as they sharpened their roasting and sautéing skills. Students selected a roasted chicken recipe, expertly coated and prepped their chicken, and applied the same techniques to fresh vegetables for sautéing. As the kitchen filled with great aromas, students roasted their chicken and sautéed their vegetables to perfection. The experience concluded with students proudly enjoying the delicious meal they had created. #PanthersRISE
