We are deeply grateful to Leonard's Photography for their role in preserving the memories of our NJROTC's outstanding performance at Homecoming. Their photos of the NJROTC presenting Flags and Swords to honor our Homecoming Court are a testament to their dedication. #PanthersRISE

Congratulations to our RISE Staff of the Week! Ms. Bice is a phenomenal example of what it means to be a Ridgeview Panther. #PanthersRISE

Reminder: No school Monday, Oct. 13 — it’s a Teacher Planning Day. Enjoy the long weekend, Panthers! 🐾

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Ms. Marrero's Spanish students engaged in a cultural learning activity to promote awareness and appreciation of Hispanic contributions to the United States. Students researched a notable Hispanic individual who has positively impacted our country through hard work and dedication, then created a character representation of their chosen person to present to the class. This project allowed students to share their learning, practice communication skills, and deepen their understanding of Hispanic culture and its lasting influence in our nation. #PanthersRISE

Ms. Generazio’s Art 2 students are crushing it with their Organic Form Still Life drawings! From bone structure to delicate petals, students are mastering observation, proportion, and shading techniques to bring their compositions to life. Their progress and attention to detail truly showcase their artistic growth and dedication. #PanthersRISE

Students in Mr. Schellhorn’s freshman English class sharpened their writing skills by examining how fear and brain development influence teenage decision-making. Using graphic organizers and annotation tools, students identified claims, selected textual evidence, and explained their reasoning to build strong, well-supported responses. As they worked, Mr. Schellhorn provided real-time feedback and encouraged students to refine their thinking, turning analysis into confident, structured writing. This lesson perfectly blended critical thinking, engagement, and rigor, helping Panthers grow as readers, writers, and thinkers. #PanthersRISE

Ninth-grade ELA students in Ms. Aranda’s class explored how fear and brain development influence teenage decision-making, supporting their ideas with textual evidence. Using guided notes, clear learning targets, and success criteria, students worked collaboratively to identify claims, highlight evidence, and explain reasoning in their writing. Through structured discussions and close reading, Panthers are building strong analytical skills—evaluating authors’ choices, citing evidence effectively, and connecting ideas to a central thesis.
Learning was rigorous and focused, even on a day when some dedicated Smurfs joined the analysis!

Students in Ms. Crews and Ms. DuPont’s English classes dived deep into text analysis as they evaluated the evidence and reasoning authors use to develop central ideas. Using guided notes and academic discussion stems, students read closely, collaborate with peers, and explain how textual evidence supports their understanding of meaning. #PanthersRISE

Mr. Bruchak’s students have been busy in the shop, bringing their creativity to life through Halloween-themed woodworking projects! From pumpkins to ghosts and skulls, each piece is carefully designed, cut, and sanded by hand, providing students with the opportunity to apply precision, craftsmanship, and design skills. These Panthers are learning the tools of the trade while adding a little seasonal spirit to their carpentry class!

Last week, Ms. Klaes’s Astronomy students brought Einstein’s General Relativity to life through an interactive experiment! Using fabric to represent spacetime and marbles to represent planets, students observed firsthand how mass causes spacetime to curve, creating gravity. This hands-on exploration helped students connect complex physics concepts to real-world models, deepening their understanding of how our universe works. #PanthersRISE

This past Saturday, Ridgeview’s NJROTC cadets competed in an Orienteering Meet in Brunswick, Georgia—and they did an incredible job representing the Panther Battalion!
Michael Lyons earned 3rd place on the Green Course (the most difficult level).
Ashton, an RHS homeschool student and first-year competitor, also placed 3rd on the Orange Course!
In addition to these impressive individual finishes, our team placed:
4th Overall – Green Course
4th Overall – Orange Course
5th Overall – Team Competition
Way to go, Panthers! Your hard work, focus, and teamwork continue to make Ridgeview proud! #PanthersRISE

RISE Scholar Spotlight - Spirit

Ms. Lake’s math students took a hands-on approach to learning division this week. Using manipulatives, they were able to see and model how division works before moving on to practice problems. By applying what they learned, our Panthers are building confidence, sharpening their math skills, and proving that learning can be both interactive and fun! #PanthersRISE

Mr. King’s Career Prep students love their community-based work experience at Poochie’s Dog Park and Safe Animal Shelter, where they assisted with cleaning and spent time interacting with some of the kittens. Experiences like these help students practice employability skills in an authentic setting. We’re grateful to Poochie’s and the Safe Animal Shelter for welcoming our Panthers and investing in their futures. #PanthersRISE

RISE Scholar Spotlight - Responsibility

Last week, our Transition Works interns put their skills to the test as they built a shelf for one of the Doctors Inlet teachers. With the support of our substitute, Mr. Farley, they worked step by step to measure, assemble, and finish the project. The experience provided them with an opportunity to practice teamwork, problem-solving, and real-world skills, while also making a positive impact on their school community. #PanthersRISE

RISE Scholar Spotlight - Excellence

Students in Medical Skills recently researched and presented on various nonprofit organizations that make a difference in healthcare. Their projects explored each organization’s history, mission, services to the public, sources of funding, and volunteering opportunities. Through this work, they gained a deeper understanding of how nonprofits support healthcare initiatives, provide essential patient resources, and open doors to career pathways for those interested in serving their communities through medical and health-related fields. #PanthersRISE

Collaboration and creativity were alive in Ms. Yancey’s Biology class! Students worked in groups to explore the characteristics of living things by brainstorming ideas and building collages to represent each concept. When the groups came together to share, they discovered that many of their ideas and images overlapped, showing a strong understanding of the content and how living things connect across various examples. A great blend of science and teamwork in action!
