The Annual Run to the Sun 1 Mile Fun Run 2025 was sponsored by Florida Striders. Montclair has earned thousands of dollars from school level participation in their free events of the last decade. The Resolution Fun Run in January raised $180.00 for our school. We look forward to learning how much we earned this past weekend. Thank you to all who attend for our scholars and our school!

Two of our Montclair Odyssey of the Mind teams traveled to Orlando last weekend to participate in the State Odyssey of the Mind competition. We had an action-packed, 12-hour day with lots of creativity, problem-solving, and theatrics. Our Peter Pan's play swept us away to Neverland and our structure team's balsa wood structure held 100 pounds! We competed against almost 2,000 other students from across the state, with 20 other teams in each of their divisions. The students had so much fun watching other teams and seeing how they solved their problems, including high school and college teams! We are so proud of our teams for representing not only Montclair Elementary, but all of Clay County! Congratulations to both teams and their fearless coaches Mrs. Tomazinis and Ms. Mercer!

We are so proud of the Montclair Elementary scholars for representing not only our school, but all of Clay County with their creativity and out-of-the-box thinking! Throughout the year, students have been working diligently to create their own plays including writing the script, making props, and designing costumes. Scholars completed a real world, project-based learning activity in Mrs. Phillips second grade class. They went grocery shopping with $20 and had to choose between wants/needs (economics), be responsible in choosing healthy foods (science), and use mental math to calculate how much money they spent and how much they should receive back out of the $20. They were encouraged to save some money for other necessities or emergencies.
