Clay County District Schools is proud to be a community that supports our military families! 💜

April is the Month of the Military Child, and we invite all students, staff, and families to "Purple Up!" on Wednesday, April 15th.

Why purple? It’s the color that symbolizes all branches of the military coming together—a blend of Army green, Marine Corps red, and Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard blue. By wearing purple, we show our military-connected students that we appreciate their strength, sacrifices, and resilience.

Let’s turn our hallways and classrooms into a sea of purple on April 15th!

Odyssey of the Mind Teams competed at the Regional Competition, representing Montclair and our district as the only Clay County school. Over the last 6 months, our 35 scholars have been diligently working to write scripts, make props, design costumes, and perform completely original plays in order to solve complex problems. One team designed a self-driving car, while another created a balsa wood structure to hold 35 pounds! Teams earned 4th, 3rd, 3rd, and 1st place, with one team moving forward to compete in the state tournament! A HUGE thank you to our coaches Mrs. Tomazinis, Mrs. Goodyear, and Mrs. Mercer for helping our teams SOAR this year!

We would like to express gratitude for the amazing Field Week our resource team facilitated for our scholars. The team goes above and beyond to make this memorable and meaningful. All the signs and wanted posters were amazing and fun. This is an event that scholars remember for a lifetime. We can’t tell you how many scholars who visit during our high school graduation walk ask if we still do this. The ones who are older only had a Field Day so they are always jealous that it’s now a week long event. We also want to thank our PFA for providing every scholar with a bandana for the three Hogwarts themed teams across the grade levels. This added to the school spirit for the week. Doing this earlier in the year instead of May paid off with the wonderful weather forecast. It was also great to see some of our parents and grandparents volunteering during the week as well. Soaring like Monarchs!
