Looking for a meaningful way to observe Veterans Day? The Camp Blanding Museum is hosting a special ceremony and celebration tomorrow, November 11th.

Event Highlights:

⭐ FREE T-SHIRTS: The first 100 veterans to arrive will receive a free limited-edition t-shirt!

🍔 WWII-PRICED LUNCH: After the ceremony, they will be serving lunch with food at nostalgic WWII prices.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to gather and show appreciation for all who served.

The Parent Faculty Associations Trunk or Treat was a great success. This free community event was attended by many enjoying the fall atmosphere. We are grateful for the teachers, staff, and parents who decorated their trunks with amazing themes full of candy. Happy Halloween!

Extended Studies students just wrapped up their final week in their Africa Unit. Throughout the first quarter, students adventured to ancient West African Kingdoms and researched about their lives and folktales. Students then used this information to make replicas of their artifacts, masks, and textiles. Take a peek at what we've been up to!

Our Montclair Family gathered for the 1st Quarter Flagpole Ceremony to honor our country, our scholars, and our school. Scholars received recognition for reading and character traits of the month for August and September. The atmosphere was festive as each grade level Spirit Stick Award was earned with a dessert party from the Principal. Our character trait recipients will enjoy an ice cream sundae on Friday afternoon. We look forward to seeing you at the flagpole for our next ceremony in December!

Lunch with the Principal is 200 points in the PBIS Rewards School Store. Principal Miller provides a monster 24 inch Five Star Pizza, chips, dessert, and a drink. The scholars enjoyed lunch and conversation in the courtyard with the Principal!

Dance Party with the Principal continues to be the number one selling item in the PBIS Rewards School Store. Scholars receive a 15 minute dance party in the Principal’s office with warm popcorn and pink lemonade for 100 points. Principal Miller danced all day! Soaring like Monarchs!

The Montclair Family is grateful for our PFA volunteers as they honored our scholars with the 1st Quarter Incentive Reward by serving them delicious snow cones for finishing strong. Their help in Principal Miller’s PBIS Rewards School Store helped spread their smiles even further! It was a great week for our scholars and our school. #grateful

The Montclair WOW Award is a time cherished tradition when a staff member passes along the WOW Trophy to honor another colleague to express their admiration. Our 1st quarter recipients were Brenda Hartshorn, Glen Oliver, Danut Matei, and Gene Bilbray. They truly exemplify our Montclair Family Pledge, “We take ownership of the expectations and procedures to create a safe, respectful, and loving learning environment.” We are grateful for such professionals!

After receiving our scholars for High Five Friday, the Orange Park High School students led a Reader’s Theater with our 4th grade scholars. Thank you for creating excitement for reading! We look forward to the OPHS students returning next quarter! We are grateful for Mrs. Rykalsky for making our guests feel at home!

Our 1st High Five Friday was received well from our scholars! To celebrate the successful conclusion of the 1st quarter, Orange Park High School scholars visited Montclair for morning arrival. Our scholars were greeted with high fives for a job well done! We are thankful for this partnership with OPHS and look forward to seeing them on the last day of each quarter. Thank you to our Title 1 Team for planning this event!

The Montclair Elementary Certified Schoolyard Habitat was improved last weekend as the BGNF donated Red Maple trees. The trees will create an area for our scholars to explore the wildlife that will make the new Red Maple Cove their home. We are grateful for the Lakeside Junior High School scholars who volunteered to make this happen and our partnership with the Boys and Girls Club led by Director Beth Davis. Soaring Like Monarchs!

Due to the unfavorable rainy weather overnight I have decided to postpone our 1st Quarter Flagpole to Wednesday, October 15th. Here is a new flyer to register if you haven't already. Anyone currently registered for tomorrow will not have to do this a second time as the QR code is the same. We will still have OPHS scholars visiting for "High Five Friday" during morning arrival. Our scholars can look forward to the PFA's 1st Quarter Incentive with a free snow cone while exiting lunch tomorrow.

Principal Miller's PBIS Rewards School Store opened during the Art Resource rotation on Monday and Tuesday. We are thankful for the parents who volunteered which made the store run smoothly for our scholars. We are in need of a few more parents to help with Thursday and Friday.
