Make sure your voice is heard! Clay County District Schools encourages all eligible voters in our community—including parents, staff, and students turning 18—to prepare for the upcoming 2026 General Election.

Mark your calendars with these key deadlines:

October 5: Voter Registration Deadline Register to vote or update your information online at RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov.

October 22: Last Day to Request a Mail Ballot Submit your request by 5:00 PM at ClayElections.gov.

October 23–31: Early Voting All seven Clay County sites are open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (including weekends).

It’s Blackout Night at Oakleaf Junior! Join us next Tuesday, September 22, at 6:00 PM as the Yellow Jackets take on Lakeside Junior in a home football game. Wear an all-black outfit to match the night’s theme, bring your cheers, and help us show our team some Oakleaf pride! FCCLA Fashion Society will also host a Best-Dressed Contest for students wearing the theme. One winner from each grade (6th, 7th, and 8th) will receive a Chick-fil-A lunch box. CREW meets every Wednesday morning at 8:30 am in the media center. This Christian club allows students to meet friends, be encouraged, and learn about Scripture. The first meeting is September 23rd, and everyone is welcome!

Lights, camera, action! 🎬 Our TV Production students are stepping into the studio and taking full control of the broadcast. From anchors to directors, audio technicians, and editors—every student is gaining hands-on experience in every role it takes to bring a professional news show to life. It’s incredible seeing them step up, take ownership, and truly enjoy the learning process!

Our 6th–8th graders in OLJ’s Literacy Elective took on the Vocabulary Upgrade challenge today, transforming everyday language into sophisticated storytelling tools!

By matching "simple" words like happy or big with their more descriptive counterparts—like ecstatic and enormous—students are adding serious depth to their creative writing toolkit.

Through meaningful classroom reflection and age-appropriate civics lessons, we ensure that the legacy of these heroes inspires the next generation.
