Taking it back to the basics in Mrs. Kirk’s Hospitality class! 🗺️✈️ Before relying on digital navigation, students unrolled traditional paper maps to analyze routes, mileage, and landmarks. Using these classic tools, they mapped out custom travel itineraries within their assigned states—learning the fundamentals of travel planning and spatial awareness! To top it off, students compared their manual calculations against real-time GPS routes to see how route efficiency, travel times, and scenic detours stack up. It’s hands-on, real-world learning that prepares our future tourism and hospitality leaders for every turn on the road! 🚗💨

Teamwork makes the dream work in 10th Grade ELA! 💡📚 Mrs. Allsup and Mrs. Ortega joined forces to bring dynamic, station-based learning to their classroom! After diving reading a text, students rotated through targeted learning stations. From analyzing context clues to decode challenging vocabulary to tackling End-of-Course (EOC) style questions like total pros, our 10th graders were focused, collaborative, and hard at work! Huge shoutout to Mrs. Allsup and Mrs. Ortega for creating such an engaging, student-centered environment that builds both confidence and test readiness! 👏✨

❤️🤍💙 9/11 Heroes’ Day | National Day of Remembrance 🕊️

Today, September 11th, Clay County District Schools pauses to honor the lives lost, the courageous first responders who rushed toward danger, and the countless heroes whose bravery shone on one of our nation’s darkest days.

On this National Day of Remembrance, our students and staff reflect on the selflessness, unity, and resilience that defined our country following September 11, 2001. Through meaningful classroom reflection and age-appropriate civics lessons, we ensure that the legacy of these heroes inspires the next generation.

Today, we invite our Clay County community to join us in taking a moment of quiet reflection to honor those we lost and thank the local heroes who keep us safe every day.

We will never forget. ❤️
