On November 3, Clay County voters will consider the renewal of the existing One Mill ad valorem funding for four years (July 1, 2027 – June 30, 2031).

Because this measure is a renewal of the existing operating millage, it continues current funding without increasing tax rates. Revenues are strictly dedicated to two operational priorities:

School Safety: Funding law enforcement contracts for campus officers.

Employee Compensation: Providing competitive pay to retain and attract quality teachers and support staff.

Students stepped into the shoes of different countries, going on quick "dates" to analyze each other's Demographic Transition Model (DTM) stages. From high birth rates to aging populations, they evaluated demographic data and population pyramids in search of their ultimate "love country" match! 📈❤️

Make sure your voice is heard! Clay County District Schools encourages all eligible voters in our community—including parents, staff, and students turning 18—to prepare for the upcoming 2026 General Election.

Mark your calendars with these key deadlines:

October 5: Voter Registration Deadline Register to vote or update your information online at RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov.

October 22: Last Day to Request a Mail Ballot Submit your request by 5:00 PM at ClayElections.gov.

October 23–31: Early Voting All seven Clay County sites are open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (including weekends).

Inside Mrs. Brady’s Thinking Classroom Desks were pushed aside and ideas took center stage. By utilizing vertical boards around the room, Mrs. Brady transformed her learning space into an active "Thinking Classroom."Working in small groups, students tackled challenging problems directly on the walls. The shift from sitting at a desk to standing at a vertical board completely changed the energy of the room, turning passive note-taking into active, visible problem-solving.

. Learning a new language takes creativity, practice, and connection—and Mrs. Brasfield’s students brought all three to their latest Spanish lesson! The classroom was buzzing as students dove into present-tense verb conjugations while building out their vocabulary notebooks. To make the new words stick, students paired Spanish terms with their English translations alongside quick hand-drawn illustrations. By connecting visual memory with written language, students created personalized reference guides for their new family-themed unit (la familia). Mrs. Brasfield has created a classroom culture that celebrates engagement and participation where students cheer each other on and are encouraged to their classmates!

Algebra in Action: Inside Mr. Otero’s Interactive Scavenger Hunt Who says solving algebraic equations has to happen sitting down at a desk? In Mr. Otero’s class, algebra turned into an active, collaborative team sport during an interactive scavenger hunt designed to get students moving, thinking, and working together.
