On behalf of the students, parents, and teachers at Fleming Island High School Eaglets Preschool, I want to express our deepest gratitude for the truly extraordinary experience Station 22 provided during a recent visit on October 7, 2026.

Words can hardly capture how grateful we are for the warmth, patience, and dedication your team showed our young learners. The firefighters took time with every single student, giving each child undivided, one-on-one attention. The way you explained your equipment and daily responsibilities in such clear, approachable terms was inspiring to watch, and letting the kids touch and inspect everything made the experience so tangible and engaging for them.

The absolute highlight, of course, was when each child got to hold the hose and spray down the cones like real firefighters. That moment was unforgettable. This morning, both the kids and their parents are still talking about it, many have said it was one of the absolute best experiences their children have ever had!

Beyond being fun, your gentle and open approach transformed how our students view emergency responders. You replaced lingering fears with genuine excitement and sparked a deep admiration for the work you do every day. You created a lifelong memory and planted seeds of inspiration in these young minds.

Mr. Merritt’s AP Seminar students stepped up to the podium in full professional attire for an intense round of 4-panel debates!

Students tackled a timely and critical prompt:

Dressed for success, students presented well-researched arguments, cross-examined their opponents, and defended their positions using credible, resource-backed evidence. Beyond mastering content, these scholars put key AP Seminar skills into practice:
Refined public speaking and delivery
Civil discourse and respectful Q&A
Evidence-based argumentation under pressure

Classmates scored their arguments on a rubric and selected a winner based off of the arguments, not their own personal beliefs.
