✨ Reaching for the Stars Together in Mr. Carter’s Astronomy Class! 🌌 We kicked off the semester in Mr. Carter's Astronomy class with a mission: before we can explore the vast galaxies, nebulae, and constellations out there, we need to build our very own stellar universe right here in the classroom! To foster a positive, collaborative culture from day one, students dove into engaging classroom discussions and got to share a little bit out their own interests. #SoarHigher

🌟 Kicking Off English 4 in Style! We are so excited to dive into a brand new school year in Mrs. Allsup’s English 4 class! Today was all about building our classroom community. Students jumped right into fun icebreakers to get to know one another for their final year of high school, and start building a supportive team environment. We also had an important discussion on digital citizenship, safety, and appropriate technology practices. #SoarHigher

As our students head back to class tomorrow morning for the first day of the new school year, it’s the perfect time for a quick refresher on getting to school safely. Whether you walk, ride, or drive, we all play a part in keeping our school community safe.

Check out these tips to help us all arrive safe:

🚶‍♂️ WALK SAFE!

Heads Up, Phone Down! Stay alert and aware of your surroundings.

Use sidewalks and cross only at corners and crosswalks.

Look LEFT-RIGHT-LEFT before crossing.

Be seen!

🚲 RIDE SAFE! (Bikes, E-Bikes, & E-Scooters)

Helmet On: Wear a helmet—it’s the LAW for riders under 16!

Obey all traffic laws, stop signs, and traffic lights.

Ride with traffic, stay off your phone, and yield to walkers on the sidewalk.

E-Riders: You are fast and quiet. Drivers don't always expect you—be extra alert and slow down at intersections!

🚌 BUS SAFE!

Wait in a safe place well away from the road.

Board or cross ONLY when the driver gives you the "OK" signal.

Stay seated and keep the aisle clear.

Drivers: Please review the "School Bus Safety Rules" graphic below so you know exactly when you MUST stop!

🚗 DRIVE SAFE!

Slow down, especially in school zones.

Expect the unexpected—look twice for kids at every intersection, driveway, and crosswalk.

Give bicyclists at least 3 feet of clearance.

Put the phone away, no texting, and focus on the road.

Let's work together to make the first day back a safe one. Share this post with your students and neighbors to help spread the word!

Be Seen. Be Smart. Be Safe.

We can't wait to see you tomorrow! 📚✨

Parent Drop Off/Pick-up

High School morning drop off will use the left two lanes in the morning. Pre-K morning drop off will use the right hand lane. Please be cautious as you enter the parking lot and drop off lanes. Students will be able to exit the vehicle once they enter the drop zone inside the marked yellow lines.

In the afternoon parents may use the outer two lanes to pull up. Once students enter your car in the yellow lines, you may exit the pickup line through the center lane. Please do not pull into the center land until you are ready to leave the parent pick-up line.

There will be adults out to help direct parents through the parent pick-up lines.
Please always use caution and signals as you move through the lanes.
Thank you and we look forward to having a wonderful year.

🚲 Heads Up, Clay! Arrive Safe! 🛴

With students heading back to class this week, bike racks across Clay County are filling up fast! Whether you're riding a traditional bike, e-bike, or e-scooter, safety starts before you even step on the pedals.

Keep these quick tips in mind for a smooth ride:

  • Obey the Rules: Follow all traffic laws, stop signs, and signals.

  • Go with the Flow: Always ride with the flow of traffic, not against it.

  • Stay Alert: Ditch the distractions, look ahead, and watch for hazards.

  • Be Seen & Predictable: Use hand signals when turning or stopping so drivers know your next move.

  • Protect Your Brain: Wear a helmet—it’s Florida law for riders under 16!

E-Bike & E-Scooter Riders: Watch your speed and slow down near pedestrian zones and crosswalks!

Let’s make this school year the safest one yet! 🎒✨
