RISE Scholar Spotlight - Excellence

Ms. Plyler’s Geometry students wrapped up their last lesson before starting review for their semester exam, and of course, had to celebrate with the trending student chant: SIX… SEVEN! Lesson 6.7 brought hands-on fun as students used manipulatives to explore how hinges create different angles and how those angles affect the side lengths of a triangle with two congruent sides. #PanthersRISE

Mr. Decubellis’s World History students have been hard at work creating their own governments while exploring how civilizations have structured power and authority. From defining the purpose of government and source of power to outlining citizens’ rights, economic systems, and responding to a crisis, students are applying real-world reasoning to historical concepts. This project also sets the stage for their upcoming Enlightenment Government Creation, where they will connect the ideas of Locke, Hobbes, and Montesquieu to the governments they design—an excellent example of critical thinking and authentic learning! #PanthersRISE

At the beginning of December, our Women’s Chorus had the special privilege of performing for the residents at Canterfield of Clay County. This cherished annual tradition brings joy to both our students and the residents, and it was once again a heartfelt and memorable experience for everyone involved. We are proud of our Panthers for sharing their talents and spreading joy through music. #PanthersRISE

Today, our Ridgeview High School NJROTC cadets proudly volunteered at Jacksonville National Cemetery in support of Wreaths Across America. Our cadets assisted with the unloading of wreaths and helped with the placement of remembrance wreaths, honoring our nation’s fallen heroes and ensuring each veteran was remembered by name. Through their service, our cadets demonstrated respect, leadership, and a deep commitment to honoring those who served our country. We are incredibly proud of their willingness to give their time and represent Ridgeview with dignity and patriotism at such a meaningful event. #PanthersRISE

Ms. Buonopane's AICE General Paper students sharpened their discursive writing skills by analyzing a high-scoring released exam paragraph and breaking down what makes an effective body paragraph. Through guided modeling, collaborative annotation, and structured discussion, students identified transitions, context, concrete evidence, and how to connect evidence back to the prompt clearly. Students then applied these skills directly to their own writing using previously developed prompts as they continue preparing for success on the AICE exam. #PanthersRISE

In Ms. Koehler’s AICE English Language class, students deepened their understanding of tone, register, and audience by analyzing a formal crime report and discussing how language shapes meaning and credibility. Through independent annotation, collaborative discussion, and whole-group analysis, students explored how objectivity impacts reliability. They then applied their learning by working with partners to transform a contrasting text into a formal crime report, making intentional choices about diction, sentence structure, and tone. #PanthersRISE

RISE Scholar Spotlight - Responsibility

This past Monday night was such a special evening at a combined 4-H meeting hosted at Ms. Cannarella’s barn! Students from across the clubs came together to decorate cookies, build new friendships, and enjoy a cozy campfire under the stars. The laughter, creativity, and Panther spirit made it a night to remember. #PanthersRISE

Ms. Michaels’ students bridged the gap between American Literature and Applied Mathematics as they transformed Mark Twain’s The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras County into a real-world Sports Statistics Lab! Instead of simply reading the tall tale, students became analysts—auditing the main character’s bold claims through data. Using the frog’s jump “history,” they calculated mean, median, and mode, modeled fatigue with linear equations, and even converted units to see if the famous “4-foot jump” truly held up to statistical scrutiny. #PanthersRISE

IB Digital Society students recently practiced storyboarding by outlining a tutorial video for a review lesson. This activity focused on strengthening the planning, creation, and editing skills they will need for the video component of their IB Internal Assessment. Through this hands-on preparation, students are building both technical proficiency and confidence as they move closer to completing this major IB requirement. #PanthersRISE
