Some of our chorus students had an incredible experience at The Broadway Vocal Clinic in New York, where they worked alongside industry professionals and immersed themselves in the artistry and discipline of Broadway performance. Through this experience, they strengthened their vocal skills, learned from experts in the field, and gained insight into what it takes to perform at a high level.
A special shoutout to @misskimizzo for the impact she made on our students throughout this experience. Her passion, talent, and dedication to mentoring young performers truly inspired our group and made this opportunity even more meaningful. Experiences like this are what it’s all about: learning beyond the classroom, growing as performers, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. #PanthersRISE

Our Earth Club members spent time giving back to our community by volunteering at Crosby Sanctuary last Saturday. Students worked together to care for the native plant garden by weeding and laying fresh mulch, helping preserve the space's natural beauty and health. They also cleaned and refilled bird feeders, supporting local wildlife and learning the importance of environmental stewardship. Experiences like this reflect our commitment to responsibility, service, and making a positive impact beyond our campus. #PanthersRISE

Students in Ms. Ryan’s AICE Psychology class engaged in a fast-paced and highly competitive review activity designed to reinforce their understanding of all 12 psychological studies. Through a game called “Sink or Swim,” students worked in teams, going head-to-head to answer multiple-choice questions, with each correct response impacting who stayed in the game. This dynamic structure kept every student actively involved while allowing them to review nearly 100 questions in a single session. Activities like this not only strengthen content mastery aligned to AICE exam expectations but also build quick thinking, collaboration, and academic confidence as students prepare for their upcoming assessments. #PanthersRISE

Students in Ms. Henning’s ELD Reading class strengthened their language skills through an engaging vocabulary challenge. Using a list of specific consonants they had studied along with all vowels, students worked in teams to create as many words as possible using only those letters. The classroom quickly turned into a lively competition as groups collaborated, experimented with different letter combinations, and celebrated each new word they discovered. This activity helped students apply their phonics knowledge, expand their vocabulary, and build confidence as they worked together in a fun, supportive learning environment. #PanthersRISE
Our Culinary 3 and 4 students recently took on the challenge of creating their own bread-and-butter boards from scratch! Students began by researching a bread recipe that could be completed within two days. On day one, they prepared the dough and placed it in the refrigerator to slow the rise. On day two, they shaped and baked their loaves, then created a flavored butter of their choice. From sweet to savory, the variety of butters paired perfectly with the freshly baked bread. To finish, students arranged their creations on wooden cutting boards for a beautiful presentation. It was a hands-on lesson in patience, technique, and creativity, and the results were delicious! #PanthersRISE

Students in Mr. Decubellis’s World History class strengthened their understanding of key World War I vocabulary using the Frayer Model strategy. Working collaboratively in groups, students completed the four components of the organizer: definition, sentence, synonym, and visual representation to deepen their understanding of important historical terms. By using their textbook as a resource to locate definitions and clarify meanings, students engaged in meaningful discussion and critical thinking while building the academic vocabulary needed to understand better the causes, events, and impact of World War I. #PanthersRISE

Students in Culinary 3 and 4 are sharpening their culinary artistry while learning garnishing and decorative food presentation. As part of the lesson, students practiced transforming cucumbers into delicate flower designs, building both knife skills and attention to detail. Activities like this help our Panthers understand that presentation is just as important as flavor in the culinary world while allowing them to showcase their creativity in the kitchen. #PanthersRISE

Ms. Generazio’s Art 2 students recently explored the traditions of the Chinese New Year while creating beautiful lantern projects inspired by the celebration. After learning about the cultural significance and symbolism of lanterns, students designed their own using watercolor and marker to bring their ideas to life.
The finished pieces showcase vibrant colors, detailed line work, and creative designs, from powerful tigers to beautifully patterned snakes and floral elements. By combining watercolor techniques with marker illustration, students added depth, contrast, and intricate detail to their artwork.
Projects like this allow students to strengthen their artistic skills while also learning about traditions from around the world. #PanthersRISE

Students in Ms. Dupont’s 9th-grade English class recently brought Romeo and Juliet to life through thoughtful discussion and debate. As they prepared to write their argumentative essays, students began by creating their own personal definitions of love before gathering textual evidence to support two perspectives: whether Romeo and Juliet shared true love or their relationship was not authentic. Using color-coded index cards, students recorded quotes and explanations for both sides, then worked with a partner to debate the strength of each argument. After reaching a consensus, pairs selected a quote and explanation to display on poster paper for their classmates to review. This engaging activity helped students strengthen their critical thinking, collaboration, and evidence-based writing skills.
