Ms. Sloan's second graders participated in an optional black history project. Students created a bottle buddy to resemble the person they researched. Each student dedicated time and put in great effort to create and present their project. Students learned about Lonnie Johnson, Sarah Boone, George Washington Carver, Madam C.J. Walker, and Charles Drew.

🎨🎶 Oakleaf Village Night at the CCSD School Board Meeting 🎶🎨

Last Night, Oakleaf Village was honored to be showcased by the CCSD Fine Arts Department! Our students truly shone with their artwork on display, and our chorus did a beautiful job performing a couple of songs.

A huge thank you to Mrs. Levingston, our art teacher, and Mrs. Reid, our music teacher, for the time, talent, and heart they poured into preparing for this special evening. And of course, thank you to our amazing administrators for their continued support.

We are so proud of our students and our Oakleaf Village community! 💙✨

School Counselors Amplify Student Success 🔊✨

This week, Clay County District Schools is proud to celebrate National School Counseling Week. Our counselors are more than just academic advisors—they are listeners, advocates, and bridge-builders.

Whether it’s navigating a tough day, planning for a bright future, or simply providing a safe space to be heard, our counselors work daily to "amplify" the potential in every child they meet.

To our CCDS Counseling Team: Thank you for your tireless heart, your patience, and your dedication to the well-being of our students. We are so grateful for the impact you make across our district!

Help us show our counselors some love! "Heart" this post to send a huge thank you to the counseling team at your school! 🔗💙

Mrs. Hellman’s class had so much fun celebrating Groundhog Day! Students made predictions about whether Punxsutawney Phil would see his shadow, collected and analyzed our class data, and turned it into a graph—such great critical thinking and math skills at work! To top it all off, we enjoyed a special groundhog-themed treat that was almost as sweet as our learning.

📚✨ Red, White, and Blue Literacy Fun! ❤️🤍💙

What a patriotic and page-turning night! In honor of Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida, we hosted our Early Literacy Night last Thursday and it was a star-spangled success! 🌟

Our VPK-2nd grade students and families joined us to celebrate "Read, White, and Blue: 250 Chapters of America." From interactive literacy games and creative crafts to meeting our special eagle friend, it was a night dedicated to the joy of reading and the future of our youngest learners.

❤️ A Huge Thank You To:

The CCDS Literacy Team: Your hard work and planning made this event magical for our families.

Heather Teto (Chief of Elementary) & Melanie McIver (Supervisor of Literacy) for your incredible leadership.

Superintendent Broskie and Board Member Erin Skipper for stopping by to support our students and celebrate the importance of early literacy!

We are so proud of our Clay County readers. Let’s keep those "chapters" turning! 📖🍎

🎶 A Night of Harmony: Celebrating our 26th Annual All-County Elementary Chorus!

Last night, the stage was set for a milestone of melody as Clay County District Schools presented our 26th Annual All-County Elementary Chorus concert. Under the masterful direction of our amazing Clay County Elementary Music Teachers, hundreds of our brightest young stars filled the air with music that touched every heart in the audience.

Our students rose to the occasion, performing a challenging repertoire that spanned from the classical beauty of Mozart’s "Alleluia Canon" to the rhythmic energy of "Thula Klizeo." They truly lived up to the evening's finale, proving that they really do "Shine Like Stars."

Highlights of the Evening:
Artistry in Motion: From the wisdom of "Three Quotes by Mark Twain" to the uplifting spirit of "If You’re Happy/Amen," our students showcased incredible talent.

Special Guest Performance: We were honored to host Alex Kirk, whose performance of the "Concertino in Eb Major" on trombone was a masterclass in musicality for our young performers.

Exceptional Accompaniment: We were privileged to have Rachel Letter Clifton as our 2026 Accompanist. Her performance provided a wonderful foundation for our students' voices and was a joy to witness.

Teachers Leading by Example: One of the most touching moments was the performance of "This is Why We Sing" by our very own Clay County Elementary Music Teachers. Seeing our educators share their own voices was a powerful reminder of the passion that fuels our arts programs every day.

To our students: Your dedication, practice, and courage on that stage were inspiring. You represented your schools and our district with such talent and grace!

To our music educators: Thank you for the countless hours of preparation and for your unwavering commitment to student success. You don't just teach music; you give our children a voice.
