On November 3, Clay County voters will consider the renewal of the existing One Mill ad valorem funding for four years (July 1, 2027 – June 30, 2031).

Because this measure is a renewal of the existing operating millage, it continues current funding without increasing tax rates. Revenues are strictly dedicated to two operational priorities:

School Safety: Funding law enforcement contracts for campus officers.

Employee Compensation: Providing competitive pay to retain and attract quality teachers and support staff.

🗳️ 2026 General Election: Important Dates to Remember

Make sure your voice is heard! Clay County District Schools encourages all eligible voters in our community—including parents, staff, and students turning 18—to prepare for the upcoming 2026 General Election.

Mark your calendars with these key deadlines:

October 5: Voter Registration Deadline Register to vote or update your information online at RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov.

October 22: Last Day to Request a Mail Ballot Submit your request by 5:00 PM at ClayElections.gov.

October 23–31: Early Voting All seven Clay County sites are open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (including weekends).

November 3: Election Day Polls are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

-Pizza Half-Day Orders: Students who purchased pizza will be credited and have their orders honored on the next half-day, which is Friday, October 30th.

-Dad's Walk Their Student to School Day: This special morning, which honors the role father figures play in students' lives, has been rescheduled for Friday, September 25th.

🔎🪨 Our 2nd-grade scientists are exploring Earth’s natural resources, including rocks!

Students discovered that Earth is made up of rocks and that rocks come in many shapes and sizes. They used hand lenses to observe and compare different rocks and talked about the many ways rocks can be classified, including shape, size, color, and texture.

Their favorite discovery? Some minerals in rocks can make them sparkle! ✨🪨

4th-grade students participated in another activity today called Block Party! 🎶🗣️

Students strolled (vocabulary word) around the room while music played. When the music stopped, they found a partner, stood back to back, and then turned to talk about whether a statement belonged or didn’t belong in a summary.

Learning, moving, talking, and having fun all at the same time!

📜 Happy U.S. Constitution Day! 📜

Today, September 17th, we celebrate the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787—the foundation of our nation’s freedoms, rights, and democracy.

As part of American Founders' Month, students across Clay County District Schools are diving into civics and history lessons to learn how our government works and what it means to be an active, informed citizen. ❤️🤍💙

📰Some of our 3rd graders became “News Reporters” today during their novel study! Students reflected on important events from the chapter and used details from the text to write their journal responses. They had a blast reporting the events and showing what they understood! ✏️📖

Today, our 4th graders got down to business with a fun Fan & Pick activity! 👏

Students focused on looking closely at answer choices, deciding which answer works and why the others don’t. Each student had a job within their team, and they worked together to explain their thinking and make their choices. 🧠🤝

We loved seeing our 4th graders collaborate, discuss their reasoning, and stay engaged in their learning!

September 15th is International Dot Day, based on the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds. All students in grades 1-5 created a “dot” based on a painting by artist Wassily Kandinsky. The 6” squares were then cut, rearranged, and glued back together to create a giant collaborative mural. The mural measures 52’ wide x 3’ long and is so big it wouldn’t fit on one wall!

🍎🌾 Last week, Pre-K learned about farms and apples! Our little learners taste-tested apple cider and different kinds of apples, then made their own apple pie. 🥧🍎
