
OLJ's final family engagement activity will be Family Feud game night. This will take place this Friday 5/16/2025, in the cafeteria. Doors open at 5:00pm. We will have concessions available. There is no admission fee. This is just a time to enjoy each other's company and have fun.

Last week in the media center, 8th-grade ELA classes learned definitions, characteristics, and examples of genres. Students utilized their new knowledge by playing Genre Jenga. They answered genre questions that corresponded with color-coded Jenga blocks. Last tower standing wins! A great lesson that includes teamwork, laughter, and a little friendly competition.

FREE SPORTS PHYSICAL DAY will be on Saturday April 12th, 2025 at Orange Park High School from 8:00am-11:00am in the OPHS Cafeteria .
The times are as follows:
8:00-9:30 am: OPHS, MHS, CHS
9:30-11:00 am: OHS, RHS, FIHS, KHHS
"Who We Play For" will be joining us at the free physical event this Saturday, to provide ECG screenings to any student-athlete who would like one. Parents may want to select an ECG screening time slot either before or after their student-athlete's scheduled time range for the physicals to help with flow. The ECG screenings are free of charge, although donations to "Who We Play For" are welcome for those who wish to contribute.

Congratulations to OLJ Chess Team! They placed third on Saturday in the first-ever Clay County Junior High Chess Tournament. Only half a point away from second. The following students did an amazing job representing the HIVE. Ethan D, Liam W, Tristian P, Thiraput T, Alyssia M, Kinsey W, Tyrone M, Tucker J & Aiden M. Also, a special HIVE FIVE to Kinsey, who went undefeated in the tournament and won an award during the first round for an exceptionally played game. Way to go, Yellow Jackets!

From Trash to Treasure-Oakleaf Junior High Jr. students took City Thrift by storm yesterday for our Rip the Runway field trip! Ms. Brown's Fashion class explored sustainable fashion, strategized their show-stopping looks, and wrapped it up with a well-earned business lunch at Golden Corral. The creativity was flowing and we can't wait to see it all come to life on the runway soon! Stay tuned for details on the big show-it's going to be one for the books!

The Oakleaf Junior High School Expo for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Students is set for Tuesday, March 25. This will be an opportunity for families and students to meet school administrators and staff while learning about activities that will be available for students during the upcoming 2025 - 2026 school year.


Throwback moment to February 21st. The OLJ math team went to UNF to compete in the NorthEast chapter mathcounts competition. The team battled against 30 schools and over 300 students. The team won the most improved school, was the best school in Clay County, and top ten in the whole competition. Amazing job!
