Reminder
Clay County District Schools is proud to be a community that supports our military families! 💜

April is the Month of the Military Child, and we invite all students, staff, and families to "Purple Up!" on Wednesday, April 15th.

Why purple? It’s the color that symbolizes all branches of the military coming together—a blend of Army green, Marine Corps red, and Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard blue. By wearing purple, we show our military-connected students that we appreciate their strength, sacrifices, and resilience.

Let’s turn our hallways and classrooms into a sea of purple on April 15th!

20 Years of Harmony in Oakleaf! 🎷✨

What an incredible way to wrap up Music In Our Schools Month! The Oakleaf Jazz Knight was more than just a concert this year—it was a true celebration!

To mark the 20th anniversary of Oakleaf Junior High, alumni from the Junior Jazz Band traveled from as far as Massachusetts to reunite on stage last night. Seeing former students perform alongside our current musicians under the direction of Mike Summers—who has led the program since day one—was truly unforgettable.

A special thank you to our honored guests, Superintendent Broskie and former principals Larry Davis and Janice Tucker, for joining the celebration.

Here’s to two decades of music, mentorship, and the enduring legacy of the Oakleaf community! 🎶🙌

Give this post a ❤️ to help us celebrate 20 years of OLJ musical excellence!

The “Odds Were Ever In Our Favor” Today!
We brought the world of The Hunger Games to life with a high-stakes "Vocabulary Cornucopia" game. Students were split into Districts and had to race against one another to match complex vocabulary words to their definitions. It was the perfect mix of speed, teamwork, and literacy building!
Our Literacy Elective students absolutely loved this active, fun way to master their new vocabulary words! It was so rewarding to see them fully immersed in the challenge.
Congratulations to our District Victors for taking home the WIN—and a huge shoutout to all our Tributes for their hard work!
