Our ES scholars just completed their Ancient Mesopotamia Unit. Students researched aspects of Daily Life in Mesopotamian cities such as architecture, inventions, social structure, beliefs, and government. They then used that information to build 3D city structures with details pulled directly from their research. Engaging STREAM tasks!

Our Kindergarten citizen scientists reviewed 2 and 3 D shapes and built amazing structures independently, with a partner and with the whole team. One built a rocket and one a towering structure. We had some failures but persevered and created amazing structures. Happy Valentine’s STREAM day!

Reminder

Behind the uniform, our School Resource Officers are a vital part of the daily heartbeat of our schools. 💙

On this National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day, we aren’t just celebrating safety—we’re celebrating the mentors who guide our students, the friendly faces who greet them every morning, and the leaders who aren't afraid to get a little chalk on their hands decorating the sidewalks.

From jumping into selfies to providing a listening ear, our SROs build bridges of trust and friendship across OneClay.

Thank you for your dedication, your heart, and your service to our school community!

Our 2nd grade scholars enjoyed observing and describing the major stages in the life cycle of animals (SC.2.L.16.1) over the last 3 weeks. In partnership with Clay 4-H Youth Development, our scholars incubated and predicted hatch rates. We love our 2nd grade teachers, Mrs. Phillips, Mrs. Marcos, and Mrs. Mach for exemplifying the "S" in our STREAM Concept school (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math). School Counselors Amplify Student Success 🔊✨

This week, Clay County District Schools is proud to celebrate National School Counseling Week. Our counselors are more than just academic advisors—they are listeners, advocates, and bridge-builders.

Whether it’s navigating a tough day, planning for a bright future, or simply providing a safe space to be heard, our counselors work daily to "amplify" the potential in every child they meet.

To our CCDS Counseling Team: Thank you for your tireless heart, your patience, and your dedication to the well-being of our students. We are so grateful for the impact you make across our district!

Help us show our counselors some love! "Heart" this post to send a huge thank you to the counseling team at your school! 🔗💙

The Montclair Monarchs Title 1 Reading Night was a full house as we celebrated literacy. Families placed their cell phones in a basket and gave all their attention to each other. Our amazing Title 1 Team, Ms. Pugh and Mrs. Rykalsky planned a night full of fun and games for literacy. Principal Miller cooked homemade spaghetti and Vanessa helped him serve 145 meals. We want to thank our staff members who volunteered to help this great event! Orange Park High School deserves a big shoutout for the scholar leaders who volunteered and served drinks, food, and assistance. Soaring Like Monarchs!

What a patriotic and page-turning night! In honor of Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida, we hosted our Early Literacy Night last Thursday and it was a star-spangled success! 🌟

Our VPK-2nd grade students and families joined us to celebrate "Read, White, and Blue: 250 Chapters of America." From interactive literacy games and creative crafts to meeting our special eagle friend, it was a night dedicated to the joy of reading and the future of our youngest learners.

❤️ A Huge Thank You To:

The CCDS Literacy Team: Your hard work and planning made this event magical for our families.

Heather Teto (Chief of Elementary) & Melanie McIver (Supervisor of Literacy) for your incredible leadership.

Superintendent Broskie and Board Member Erin Skipper for stopping by to support our students and celebrate the importance of early literacy!

We are so proud of our Clay County readers. Let’s keep those "chapters" turning! 📖🍎
