3rd Grade: Learning and following the steps of the Engineer Design Process
After studying the 5 regions of the USA, Mrs. Morrell's class worked in groups to complete a puzzle of a USA map.
Our first chorus rehearsal is tomorrow afternoon! Any student that has not already returned an Extracurricular Permission form will not be allowed to stay for rehearsal. A copy of this form can be found in the LES Chorus Room (materials folder). Please access this room through the OneClay app on your device!
Today our 5th graders explored science tools at stations throughout our classroom. We practiced using stopwatch, balance scales, thermometers, spring scales, tape measures, rulers, graduated cylinders, and a microscope. We had so much fun and look forward to using these tools a lot this year.

This summer Kelly Jernigan, our Media Specialist made the decision to retire! Mrs. Jernigan dedicated over 30 years as an educator to the Clay County School District. Most of those years were spent at Lakeside Elementary as a teacher and Media Specialist. She will be missed greatly, but we wish her all the best as she begins this next chapter in her life!

3rd Grade: building arrays to show our understanding of multiplication
Our little VPK Lakers had an amazing first week getting to know their new friends and teachers.They are learning their routines, group work, playing together, painting dancing and sharing in so many fun experiences. It’s going to be a great year!
