Superintendent Broskie visited Lakeside on Thursday to honor Principal Wolfe for her leadership in honor of National Principal's Month.

For Thursday's Red Ribbon Week theme we wore animal prints or shirts with animals.

5th graders are studying rocks and minerals so today we enjoyed putting our learning into a hands on activity. We identified minerals with glassy and earthy lusters, scratched the softest minerals, talc, with our fingernails, examined the cleavage of different minerals, looked at the streak of some minerals, and tested them for the physical trait of magnetism. Then we dove right in to our rock study.
