Yearbook Distribution Day is Monday May 18th! Preordered yearbooks will be distributed during 2nd period beginning Monday, May 18th. A limited amount of yearbooks will be available for purchase beginning May 20th. The cost is $65.00 and will be sold first come first served, cash only. Today, we welcomed back a few members of the Class of 2026 as they stopped by to visit their former LAJ teachers before graduation. We are so proud of these former Tigers and can’t wait to see what they accomplish next. Congratulations, Class of 2026!
Last night, we celebrated another incredible year of FFA at our LAJ banquet as we recognized accomplishments, reflected on memories made, and said goodbye to our amazing eighth graders. We are so proud of the leadership, work ethic, and heart these students have shown both in and out of the classroom.
Thank you to our families, community sponsors, and supporters for investing in our students and helping make opportunities like this possible.
And a very special thank you to Mrs. Ramsey for the many hours, leadership, and genuine care she pours into our students each and every day.

Let’s give a huge round of applause to Emily B., an outstanding 8th grader at Lake Asbury Junior High! Emily is a true standout who balances a rigorous academic schedule—maintaining all A's in advanced classes like Algebra—with a deep commitment to the arts and her school community.
Emily’s talents shine on stage as a member of the State Chorus and an award-winning performer in the State Thespian Competition, but her impact goes far beyond her performances. As a ROAR Leader, she dedicated her summer to helping over 1,000 new students feel welcome, and she continues to show her "servant heart" as a Peer Assistant and a dedicated member of the Kids Helping Kids Club. Whether she is fundraising for others or mentoring her peers in the classroom, Emily’s inclusive nature and determination to show up for the hard work make her a shining example of the Tiger Spirit!

Tonight, we proudly welcomed a new group of students into the National Junior Honor Society at Lake Asbury Junior High School. These Tigers have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership, character, service, and citizenship, and we are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished.
A special thank you to our chapter advisor, Mrs. Wendi Stevens, assisted by Mrs. Termer for their leadership and dedication to our students and this program.
We can’t wait to see what these students accomplish next. Go get ’em, Tigers!

It’s time to start planning for the upcoming school year! Registering early allows our transportation team to build the safest and most efficient bus routes for all students.
How to Register (2 Quick Steps):

Congratulations to our LAJ Chess Team, led by captain Sofia Philip, as they earned an impressive 2nd place finish at the Clay County Junior High Chess Tournament! After tying with Oakleaf Junior in regular play, the team battled through a playoff match to secure their spot.
A special recognition goes to Devin Davis and Zachary Ray, who both went undefeated, winning all four of their matches!
We are incredibly proud of our Tigers for their focus, strategy, and sportsmanship. Thank you to our LAJ Chess Club sponsor, Mrs. Andersen, for her support in guiding this team to success!
Yesterday, the DeBeer family made their way around campus with the Woot Woot Wagon, delivering treats to all 150 of our staff members!
We are grateful for the time, effort, and heart that went into organizing, collecting donations, and spreading a little extra joy on a Friday.
LAJ is truly blessed to have such incredible community support behind our staff and students!
We had a special evening celebrating our eighth graders at the semi-formal! It was a night full of laughter, connection, and memories that will stay with them as they prepare for the next chapter in high school.
What stood out most was the way our students showed up for one another, with kindness and joy. We are incredibly proud of this group and all they represent.
A big thank you to Mrs. Behnken and her awesome team of volunteers and chaperones for making this a memorable event for our Tigers!
