Clay County families, it’s almost time! Kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year officially opens on April 2nd, 2026.
We know the first day of school is a huge milestone, and we want to help you get "show-ready!" If your child will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026, now is the perfect time to start gathering your paperwork.
📝 Your "Get Ready" Checklist: Before April 2nd, make sure you have digital or physical copies of:
1️⃣ Proof of Age: Birth certificate or legal guardianship documents.
2️⃣ Health Records: Physical and immunization documents (Form DOH 680 or 681).
3️⃣ Proof of Residence: Lease, mortgage statement, or a recent utility bill.

Spring Portraits are Wednesday, April 1. Just a heads up- Spring portraits run a little differently than Fall portraits. Spring portraits are pre-paid only. The only students who will have their picture taken are the ones who have paid online or bring in a payment on April 1st. Students not on the prepaid list will need to show their teacher their payment (this will be used as a pass to have their picture taken). The spring portraits are individual and there will not be a retake day. 6th grade pictures will be from 9:30-10:20. 7th grade 10:24-11:14 and 8th grade will be 11:18-12:08. Don’t forget to order your Spring photos (Only those who prepay will be photographed)! You can place your order at www.leonards.com/order and the access code is C711506. Just a friendly reminder that Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend! Most people find it easiest to set their clocks ahead one hour on Saturday night before heading to bed—that way, you’re all set for Sunday morning! 🛌✨
While we all adjust to losing that hour of sleep, we’re definitely looking forward to those longer, sunnier afternoons for our students' after-school sports and activities! ☀️

Clay County District Schools is considering three options for school start times for the 2026-2027 school year, and your feedback is essential to this decision.
In 2025, Florida law (SB 296) granted our School Board the flexibility to decide the best bell times for our community. We are currently weighing three possibilities:
Option A: Keep bell times exactly as they are now.
Option B: Elementary schools start first (7:20 AM), High Schools start last (9:40 AM).
Option C: Swap Elementary and Senior High times (High School starts at 8:30 AM).
Each option has different impacts on transportation costs, extracurriculars, and student sleep patterns. We want to know what works best for your family!
