We’ve landed in Peru and hiked all the way to the incredible Machu Picchu! 🏔️
Students explored the agricultural challenges of mountain farming and engineered their own terrace models, testing them against soil erosion. 🌱💧
📚 After finishing Chapter 2, they used chain reactions to design creative alarm systems for a house 🛎️⚡ and researched Peruvian farming to decide which type of farm would thrive best.
It’s been an adventure of science, engineering, and global learning—all while traveling the world from our classroom!

Our 1st-3rd grade musicians used measure mats to make measures of 2, 3, and 4 meters using strong and weak beats. After, they used the manipulatives to count out the beats of the measures, they played each measure using the correct meter and emphasized the strong beats.
Our 4th and 5th grade musicians have been learning how to read, write, and play rhythms in music class. This foundational skill is needed to be able to later create their own song.
For Hero Day, Mrs. Shaffer's VPK class had a special guest: Firefighter Ling from Alachua County! The kids were thrilled to meet a real-life hero and learn about what firefighters do to keep our community safe. A big thank you to Firefighter Ling for taking the time to visit and inspire our little heroes!

It was a RAM-tastic Twin Day yesterday! We loved seeing our RAMS participate in One Team Tuesday by dressing up for Twin Day! The school was buzzing with pairs and groups showing off their creative and coordinated outfits. Don't forget to check the important dates so you can join us next time!

As part of our Around the World in 38 Days adventure, students investigated Brazil this week. 🇧🇷
🔹 In social studies, they researched Brazil’s economy and discovered that its currency is the Brazilian real.
🔹 In science, they applied problem-solving skills to a rainforest puzzle, analyzing which layer of the ecosystem receives the greatest amount of water.
🔹 In literacy, they continued A Wrinkle in Time, engaging in character study as they met Mrs. Who in Chapter 2.
🔹 Finally, through STEM design, students synthesized their learning by creating blueprints of the rainforest water cycle, illustrating how this ecosystem maintains balance and sustainability.
This integrated experience highlights how research, critical thinking, literacy, and STEM design come together to deepen global understanding and strengthen interdisciplinary connections. 🌿📖🔬

This new feature will allow you to purchase your student's Kona for the rest of the school year without having to order each time. The Season Pass will only be available to purchase this month! You will still have the option to order monthly if you don't want to use the season pass. We will not be offering any refunds as our Season Pass is intended as a fundraiser for the school. Mrs. Toney's music classes just completed a rotation of creating and playing ostinatos with music classroom rules. Students worked collaboratively in groups with various non-pitched and pitched instruments. It was a fun way to reinforce rules and rhythms!
