Ms. Tellis is entering her sixth year in education and is excited to begin her first year with Clay County. Throughout her career, she has gained experience teaching 3rd Grade English Language Arts and 1st Grade, as well as serving as a K–5 Reading Interventionist. These diverse roles have allowed her to develop a strong foundation in literacy instruction and a passion for helping students grow into confident, successful learners.

Ms. Tellis is dedicated to creating a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. She believes that strong relationships, high expectations, and a love of learning are key ingredients for student success. She looks forward to partnering with families and guiding her students through a fun, rewarding, and successful school year filled with academic growth, new experiences, and memorable achievements.

Originally from New York, she has called Florida home since 1989, with Orange Park being her home for the past 21 years. She is the proud mother of three amazing adult children and two wonderful grandchildren. Coming from a diverse family background, she values the rich cultural experiences and perspectives that help shape who she is both personally and professionally.

With approximately 13 years of teaching experience, she has dedicated her career to Exceptional Student Education (ESE), serving students in both Duval and Clay Counties. She is passionate about helping all students succeed and believes that meaningful learning can be found in the world around us. Her love of nature plays an important role in her teaching, and she enjoys incorporating it into classroom learning experiences whenever possible.

Outside of school, she enjoys thrifting, traveling, and spending quality time with friends.

She is excited to join the Grove Park Gators ASD/VE Self-Contained (Upper grades) team and looks forward to building relationships, supporting students, and contributing to the continued success of our school community.

With more than 20 years of experience in primary education, she brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and dedication to the classroom. Her teaching journey has taken her from South Florida to Atlanta and back again, providing her with a diverse range of experiences and a deep commitment to student success.

She is the proud mother of three "grown and flown" children, including her youngest, who recently graduated from training in the United States Air Force. While cheering on her children’s accomplishments, she continues to pursue her own passions for teaching, traveling, treasure hunting at thrift stores, and participating in local trivia competitions.

Clay County District Schools Food & Nutrition Services is excited to announce our Summer 2026 Food Service Program! From June 8th to July 31st, all children ages 18 and under can receive free, nutritious meals.

No applications are required! We have two types of meal options available Monday through Friday depending on the location:

🚗 USDA Rural Sites (Off-Site Pick-up / Grab & Go)
Parents/children can pick up a hot lunch and a cold breakfast for the next day to enjoy at home!
⏰ Time: Monday – Friday, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
📍 Locations:
• Keystone Elementary, McRae Elementary, Shadowlawn Elementary, Wilkinson Elementary

🍽️ USDA Non-Rural Sites (On-Site Consumption / Dine-In)
Children must eat their hot meals at the school during the designated times.
⏰ Times: Monday – Friday | Breakfast: 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM | Lunch: 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Clay County District Schools is transitioning to the Focus Student Information System (SIS) for the 2026-2027 school year. Focus will become your new hub for checking grades, attendance, and scheduling, replacing Synergy ParentVUE and StudentVUE.

🗓️ Important Dates for a Smooth Transition:

June 25: Access to Synergy ParentVUE ends. (Be sure to download any report cards you'd like to keep before this date! 📄)

July 6: The new Focus portal goes live! 📱
