Lots of GREAT things are happening in the Media Center!

We’ve got kids reading books—say WHAT?! —and working together, collaborating, and putting their engineering skills to the test as they try to build the BIGGEST tower possible!

And let’s just say… it was TALLER THAN MRS. PAINE!

All of this fun is happening while we’re also busy revamping the Media Center and getting everything ready for our upcoming Spider STEM Night!

It’s Dolly Day at DIS!

We took a little blast from the past today with some good old-fashioned DEAR Time!

For all you young folks out there, DEAR stands for Drop Everything And Read! Yes, this was a real thing, and we are bringing it BACK!

Our Mustangs dropped everything, grabbed a book, and spent some time doing what we love most—READING!

Last Friday’s first half day of the school year was basically MADE for reading!

Our Mustangs took advantage of the extra time to curl up with a good book… outside! Because apparently, when you only have half a day of school, reading in the sunshine is the correct answer.

And it got even better! We had Book Buddies between our 4th and 2nd graders! Big kids + little kids + books = one pretty awesome way to spend a Friday!

On November 3, Clay County voters will consider the renewal of the existing One Mill ad valorem funding for four years (July 1, 2027 – June 30, 2031).

Because this measure is a renewal of the existing operating millage, it continues current funding without increasing tax rates. Revenues are strictly dedicated to two operational priorities:

School Safety: Funding law enforcement contracts for campus officers.

Employee Compensation: Providing competitive pay to retain and attract quality teachers and support staff.

All expenditures are subject to review by an independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee. Visit oneclay.net/renewal for more information.
