Last Wednesday, our Panthers took Ridgeview pride on the road again, this time with a visit to Wilkinson Junior High! We had a fantastic time connecting with our rising 9th graders, sharing the many exciting opportunities that await them at Ridgeview, and answering their questions about high school life. Their enthusiasm and curiosity were incredible, and we can’t wait to welcome these future Panthers to our campus!

Ms. Charles’s Algebra II students worked to graph parabolas and quadratic equations, using strategies to tackle SAT-style questions efficiently. Through visual models and guided practice, students strengthened their understanding of how equations translate to graphs. A highlight of the lesson was seeing a student step into a leadership role by explaining the math and reasoning behind the graphs to AP Williams, demonstrating both confidence and deep understanding. Great examples of rigorous instruction, student ownership, and meaningful math discourse at Ridgeview! 🐾📐

This past week, our Panthers visited Lake Asbury Junior High to connect with our rising 9th graders and share what life is like at Ridgeview High School. We highlighted the many opportunities available to students, including CTE pathways, Cambridge AICE and IB programs, and a wide range of athletic programs, while also answering thoughtful questions about the transition to high school.
The excitement and energy from these future Panthers was contagious, and we can’t wait to welcome them to campus soon!

Ms. Yancey’s World History students engaged in a structured close reading of an informational text comparing Athens and Sparta. Using a collaborative literacy routine, the class worked paragraph by paragraph, beginning with a whole-group read to establish shared understanding, followed by small-group rereading, discussion, and purposeful highlighting. As each group completed a section, students synthesized their thinking and shared key details and insights, reinforcing comprehension, academic discourse, and evidence-based reasoning. This intentional approach supported deeper analysis of historical texts while strengthening students’ collaborative and critical thinking skills. #PanthersRISE

Ms. Pollard’s Environmental Science students put their knowledge into action by exploring how energy moves through an ecosystem. Using their understanding of feeding relationships, students identified the sun as the ultimate energy source, classified organisms as producers or consumers, and constructed accurate food webs to demonstrate the flow of energy. This hands-on learning experience strengthened critical thinking and helped students make meaningful connections between concepts and real-world ecosystems. #PanthersRISE
