Looking for a meaningful way to observe Veterans Day? The Camp Blanding Museum is hosting a special ceremony and celebration tomorrow, November 11th.

Event Highlights:

⭐ FREE T-SHIRTS: The first 100 veterans to arrive will receive a free limited-edition t-shirt!

🍔 WWII-PRICED LUNCH: After the ceremony, they will be serving lunch with food at nostalgic WWII prices.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to gather and show appreciation for all who served.

Calling all creative writers again! The October scary short story contest was such a success that there is now a winter finish-the-story writing contest! Starting today, students can visit the library Google Classroom for more information and to submit their story. Flyers are posted in the library and in all ELA classrooms. Students Mr. Crawford's Civics class working in collaborative groups to break down separation of powers, checks and balances, rule of law, due process, and individual rights.

OPJ's WEB Crew is partnering with the local food bank "Waste Not, Want Not" to help local families for the holidays. We will be collecting non-expired, non-perishable foods beginning today Nov 3rd through Nov 19th. Students will be able to drop donations off in their holding areas each morning.

This week, we are celebrating National School Psychology Week (November 3–7)! 🥳

The much awaited "Dips around the World" Lab happened this week along with the Sewing introduction! The Wildcats from Mrs. Fatima’s Family and Consumer Science classes worked very hard this week. They peeled, chopped, shredded, juiced, blended, ground, measured, mixed and served. All this while learning how to sew for the first time ever. The students took on leadership roles after learning various stitches from Mrs. Fatima during the small group instruction. While moving forward with a new stich, they helped their peers and guided them through peer group instruction. It was simply amazing to see how much talent our Wildcats have!!!!! #OPJStudentsRock

OPJ's Cafeteria Manager Ms. Robbins opened her doors to the Wildcats for a unique learning experience. Mrs. Fatima and Ms. Robbins collaborated for the students to take a tour of the Cafeteria in detail. Students observed lunch being prepped, measured and kept in the warmers to serve approximately 800 students. Ms. Robbins made a worksheet for students to calculate the amount of servings of the toppings and sides. The students had to work in groups and they were rewarded with popsicles. As a thank you for our hardworking Cafeteria Staff, The Family & Consumer Science Wildcats made a breakfast casserole for them.
