STEAM Day
Tyler Davies, an Orange Park High Community Partnership School graduate, was in the spotlight at the Caring Chefs event on October 19th at Deerwood Castle. He highlighted the incredible impact of Orange Park High as a Community Partnership School, showcasing how our programs support families, uplift our community, and helped him flourish as a student leader and volunteer. Tyler's Raider Pride resonated deeply with everyone in the audience.

On Saturday, 42 NJROTC cadets competed in their first major Drill Meet of the year. Out of the 10 area schools competing, they brought home 2nd place overall with 8 trophies, including 1st place in athletics ( which included 1st place in push-ups and sit-ups and 2nd place in the 16X100 run), 2nd place in overall drill/marching, and 2nd place in personnel Inspection. They placed 2nd or better in 7 out of 10 events and qualified for the Area 10 Championship. Out of 80 females competing, our females took individual medals with a clean sweep of 1st through 3rd in both push-ups and sit-ups. Great job, cadets!

Thank you to Chief Warnock, USN Drone pilot, who met with our NJROTC cadets today to discuss the use of drones in national security, transportation, and surveillance. Currently, 30 cadets are preparing for their FAA 107A Commercial Drone Pilot exam.

On Tuesday, October 14th, 70 cadets from OPH NJROTC took part in a field trip to Camp Blanding Army National Guard Base. During the visit, they had the opportunity to overcome their fear of heights by rappelling from the 60-foot rappel tower.

They also had the opportunity to interact with Army National Guard personnel and recruiters, who conducted a follow-up visit to the school the following day to brief the cadets on career and college options available through the National Guard.
