Mrs. White's homeroom class was rewarded recently with a popsicle party for reaching the milestone of passing 100 Sunshine State Book quizzes! Keep reading, Eagles!!

Yesterday, April 16th, OPE celebrated our Military Kids on Purple Up day! The color purple is used because it combines the colors of all branches of the military: Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red, Navy blue, and Space Force blue. Congratulations to another 2nd grader who completed the Sunshine State Junior Reading Challenge and to two more students who completed the 3rd-6th grade Reading Challenge! The last day to take quizzes for the 3rd-6th Grade Challenge is May 6th. The last day to take quizzes for the 2nd Grade Challenge is May 9th. Keep reading, Eagles!!

THANK YOU to everyone for their super generous support of our Spring Book Fair! We would like to especially thank all of our youth volunteers. Thank you to our students and their families who helped create decor! Thank you to our 6th grade students who assisted as baggers during the morning rush before school started! Thank you also to our junior high and high school alumni who were our baggers during the Spring Fling! It is awesome to be able to catch up with them and to see them willingly give their time back to OPE! Special shoutout to Mrs. Geeser's homeroom class for helping us breakdown the Book Fair decor and reset the media center!

Congratulations to our OPE Math teams who swept the competition by winning 1st place in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade at the Elementary Math Field Day Event! They SMASHED it!

Kindergarten has been learning about plants in science. Classes have been planting seeds and watching them grow. We even got to check out the 2nd grade's beautiful garden to see what happens to plants as they continue to grow.

Also, if you are coming to shop the fair today, please check out the teacher wish bins. Books make great gifts for them, and all purchases help support our media center!!

The cake slices were created by students from Mrs. Williams' class. The cakes were created by students from Mrs. Pounds, Mrs. Stutz, and Mrs. White's classes.
