Let’s give a massive round of applause to Kaleena F. from Oakleaf High School, our High School Superintendent’s Super Student of the Month for March 2026!
Kaleena is an 11th grader who defines academic excellence and community service. With a staggering 4.75 GPA in the AICE Program, she is already on track to earn her Associate of Arts degree by the time she graduates. Her dedication to learning is further highlighted by her mastery of four languages: Fuzhounese, Chinese, English, and Spanish.
Her leadership extends far beyond the classroom. Kaleena was the Oakleaf High School nominee for the Clay Electric Youth Tour, winning the competition and earning an invitation to represent our community in Tallahassee and Washington, D.C. On campus, she is a driving force for student connection as the President of the Oakleaf Christian Club, President-elect of Future Health Professionals, Secretary of the Peer Tutoring Club, a Link Crew Leader, and a member of the National Honor Society.
What truly makes Kaleena a "Super Student" is her heart for others. She has completed over 650 service and work hours, frequently sharing her 11 years of piano expertise by performing at hospitals, senior centers, and the University of North Florida. Whether she is playing keyboard for her church worship team or organizing weekly sunrise prayer and donuts for her peers, Kaleena is a consistent, positive presence in Clay County.
We are incredibly proud of Kaleena’s leadership, talent, and tireless work ethic. She is a shining example of what it means to be a student-leader who makes a global and local impact!

Just a friendly reminder that Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend! Most people find it easiest to set their clocks ahead one hour on Saturday night before heading to bed—that way, you’re all set for Sunday morning! 🛌✨
While we all adjust to losing that hour of sleep, we’re definitely looking forward to those longer, sunnier afternoons for our students' after-school sports and activities! ☀️
We can’t wait to see all our students arriving safely and right on time this Monday morning to kick off another great week of learning. 🎒✨

Clay County District Schools is considering three options for school start times for the 2026-2027 school year, and your feedback is essential to this decision.
In 2025, Florida law (SB 296) granted our School Board the flexibility to decide the best bell times for our community. We are currently weighing three possibilities:
Option A: Keep bell times exactly as they are now.
Option B: Elementary schools start first (7:20 AM), High Schools start last (9:40 AM).
Option C: Swap Elementary and Senior High times (High School starts at 8:30 AM).
Each option has different impacts on transportation costs, extracurriculars, and student sleep patterns. We want to know what works best for your family!
