Middleburg High School would like to announce our new assistant principals, Erin McKenzie and Jordan Hobbs.
Erin McKenzie brings 14 years of dedicated service within the Clay County School District to her new role as Assistant Principal at Middleburg High School. She is a lifelong resident of Clay County and a proud graduate of Clay High School.
Ms. McKenzie began her journey in education at R.C. Bannerman Learning Center, where she served as a social studies teacher before transitioning into an ESE self-contained classroom. Her passion for supporting students with diverse needs led her to serve as a Behavior Site Coach, where she served on the team that developed the county-wide positive behavior support self-contained unit guidelines and operating procedures.
For the past three years, Ms. McKenzie has served as the Dean of Students at Middleburg High School, building strong relationships with students, staff, and families while helping foster a positive and supportive school culture. During this time, she has worked diligently on improving student attendance and further demonstrated her commitment to instructional leadership by leading a cohort of aspiring assistant principals focused on supporting lower quartile students.
Ms. McKenzie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies Education from the University of North Florida and her Master of Science in Educational Leadership from St. Thomas University. Her experiences across exceptional student education, behavior support, student services, and instructional leadership have equipped her with a well rounded perspective and a deep understanding of the needs of all learners.
Ms. McKenzie is honored to continue serving the Middleburg High School community. She is passionate about helping students reach their full potential while supporting and encouraging teachers in their professional growth.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Ms. McKenzie is a proud mother to her son, Michael, who attends Middleburg High School. She enjoys sharing in Michael’s passion for motorsports and spending time with her family and friends.
Jordan Hobbs brings 17 years of dedicated service in public education to her new role as Assistant Principal at Middleburg High School, having spent the last decade serving within the Clay County District Schools. She began her journey in education in Delaware, where she served as an Inclusion Special Education Teacher and Instructional Teacher Leader, spearheading campus-wide freshman curriculum structures and leading the Positive Behavior Support team. In 2016, she transitioned to Florida and joined the Middleburg High School family as an Algebra 1 Inclusion Teacher and Academic Coach. In this role, she has spent years utilizing student-specific data and state standards to maximize learning gains and close achievement gaps for diverse learners.
Throughout her tenure at Middleburg High School, Mrs. Hobbs has extended her leadership far beyond the classroom to drive both instructional excellence and systemic school improvement. Deeply committed to student engagement and a thriving campus climate, she has served as the Mindset Motivator Facilitator, Link Crew Sponsor, and Student Council Sponsor, using school discipline data to shape proactive, positive behavioral interventions and celebrate major student milestones.
Mrs. Hobbs earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Delaware State University and her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. Combining years of expertise in exceptional student education with a deep focus on data analysis, instructional coaching, and student service initiatives, she brings a well-rounded approach to supporting both classrooms and campus operations.
