Lightning has been detected within 8 miles of campus. Per safety procedures, we cannot release walkers or bike riders at the regular dismissal time.
Students who have cell phones are being allowed to use them to contact parents for pickup in the parent pick-up line. If your student does not have a cell phone you can still come to the parent pick up line and your student will be called from the cafeteria.
If we receive the all-clear and are able to release students, we will post an update and release them at that time.
Thank you for your understanding as we prioritize student safety.

Yesterday was our first day back at LAJ, and what a fantastic day it was! Even with traffic growing pains, we loved seeing our friendly returning Tigers and welcoming SO many new Tigers to campus. There were plenty of smiles, excited students, and teachers full of energy ready to make this an awesome year! 🐾
We understand that not only are students adjusting to junior high, but parents are too. To help, we’ve put together a helpful FAQ list addressing some of the most common questions. Important links are also listed below.
We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as LAJ learns and grows together with our students and families.

Drop-Off Reminder
If your student is being dropped off, please use the front of the cafeteria as the drop-off location. We appreciate your patience as we work through first-day traffic. No students will be marked tardy for the first few days, and things will run smoother each day!

What an uplifting way to end the school year at Lake Asbury Junior High! LAJ students and staff celebrated a truly special moment as Landon C. had his dream come true with an incredible pep rally! The excitement was electric as guitars rang out and the school chorus sang his favorite Metallica song. Just moments later, Landon learned the amazing news: he's headed to Tampa to see Metallica live in concert!
This heartwarming event was made even more special by the Kids Helping Kids Club, led by Mr. Will Wood, partnering with the Dreams Come True organization. Their dedication to compassion in action shines brightly and made this celebration and dream possible. #WeAreOneClay
