What a night for the LAJH Tiger Wrestling Team!
Last night our Tigers secured their third straight county championship, capping off a hard‑fought matchup against a tough and talented Green Cove Junior High squad. The evening was made even more special as we celebrated our incredible 8th graders—leaders who have poured their heart into this program and set the tone for the future of Tiger wrestling.
We are celebrating the effort, sportsmanship, and unity this team shows every day.

Mason, a dedicated student at Lake Asbury Junior High (LAJ), truly shines as a leader in all areas. Excelling in the rigorous LAJ STEAM program, Mason consistently demonstrates curiosity, innovation, and a deep commitment to academic success. Beyond the classroom, his impeccable behavior and embodiment of the Tiger ROAR qualities set a high standard for respect and resilience. As a proud member of the National Junior Honor Society, Mason embodies scholarship and service, extending his commitment by regularly volunteering at his church. A talented student-athlete, he has earned two district championships (in football and soccer) and attends an exclusive all-sport athlete summer camp, demonstrating remarkable perseverance and time management while balancing high-level athletics with challenging academics. We still have some seats left for Gradventure! We have reopened the down payment for one more week. It will close on 1/15 for a brief extension or until all spots have been filled. As our students return to class tomorrow morning after Winter Break, it’s the perfect time for a quick refresher on getting to school safely. Whether you walk, ride, or drive, we all play a part in keeping our school community safe.
Check out these tips to help us all arrive safe:
🚶 WALK SAFE! - Heads Up, Phone Down! Use sidewalks and cross only at corners and crosswalks. Look LEFT-RIGHT-LEFT before crossing. Be seen!
🚲 RIDE SAFE! (Bikes, E-Bikes, & E-Scooters) - Helmet On: It’s the LAW for riders under 16. Obey all stop signs and traffic lights. Ride with traffic and stay bright! Yield to walkers on the sidewalk.
⚡ E-Riders: You are fast and quiet. Drivers don't always expect you—be extra alert and slow down at intersections!
🚌 BUS SAFE! - Wait in a safe place well away from the road. Board or cross ONLY when the driver gives you the "OK" signal. Stay seated and keep the aisle clear.
Drivers: Please review the "School Bus Safety Rules" graphic below so you know exactly when you MUST stop! 🛑
🚗 DRIVE SAFE! - Slow down, especially in school zones. Look twice for kids at every intersection, driveway, and crosswalk. Give bikes 3 feet! Put the phone away and focus on the road.
