As we head into our second week at CVA, remember that you don't have to have everything figured out yet. You don't have to be perfect, and you don't have to do everything at once.
What matters is that you keep showing up.
Log in. Check your pace. Complete the next assignment. Ask your teacher for help when you need it. Then come back and do it again tomorrow.
One of the greatest benefits of virtual learning is flexibility, but with that flexibility comes responsibility. The small choices you make each day will add up over time.
So, if your first week didn't go exactly as planned, that's okay. Today is a new opportunity to get back on track. And if you had a great first week, keep that momentum going!

Have a voice in the future of Clay Virtual Academy! We invite parents, guardians, and students to serve on our School Advisory Council (SAC). The SAC provides valuable input on school improvement efforts and helps strengthen the partnership between our school and families.

Oliver, one of our Clay Virtual Academy full-time 6th graders, spent part of his summer in Orlando participating in the FLVS Club Awards! One of the best parts? Oliver had the opportunity to connect with and make new friends from all across Florida! Moments like these are a great reminder that virtual learning can open the door to connections, friendships, and experiences that extend far beyond the screen.

Heads Up, Phone Down! Stay alert and aware of your surroundings.
Use sidewalks and cross only at corners and crosswalks.
Look LEFT-RIGHT-LEFT before crossing.
Be seen!
🚲 RIDE SAFE! (Bikes, E-Bikes, & E-Scooters)
Helmet On: Wear a helmet—it’s the LAW for riders under 16!
Obey all traffic laws, stop signs, and traffic lights.
Ride with traffic, stay off your phone, and yield to walkers on the sidewalk.
E-Riders: You are fast and quiet. Drivers don't always expect you—be extra alert and slow down at intersections!
🚌 BUS SAFE!
Wait in a safe place well away from the road.
Board or cross ONLY when the driver gives you the "OK" signal.
Stay seated and keep the aisle clear.
Drivers: Please review the "School Bus Safety Rules" graphic below so you know exactly when you MUST stop!

Slow down, especially in school zones.
Expect the unexpected—look twice for kids at every intersection, driveway, and crosswalk.

A huge thank you to our amazing Curriculum Specialists, Gayle Weaver and Natalie Sessions, for leading professional learning with our CVA teachers during pre-planning last week!
Gayle and Natalie provided our teachers with practical tools and strategies to make learning more accessible and strengthen student support. One of the highlights was developing interactive pace charts that organize course resources, help videos, module reviews, notes, and assignment supports right where students need them throughout their course.
They also worked with our team to strengthen teacher support and feedback through monthly connections and classroom visits, as well as tools to help teachers better serve our Flex students.
We are incredibly thankful for Gayle and Natalie’s leadership, expertise, and commitment to supporting our teachers and students. They are an important part of what makes our CVA family so special!

🔑 Login Credentials Your BusPlanner Parent Portal login and Chipmunk App login are identical! Use the exact same username and password for both platforms.
💻 Prefer Using a Web Browser? You can also view your child's transportation information online at sdcc.mybusplanner.com
📲 Step-by-Step App Guide:
1️⃣ Log In – Open the Chipmunk App and sign in. You’ll automatically land on the ETA page (note: ETA live tracking begins on the first day of school).

Whether you’re chaperoning a field trip, helping in the classroom, or cheering on our student-athletes, we have a spot for you! We’ve introduced two tiers of volunteering (Level 1 & Level 2) with tailored screening processes to keep our campuses secure. 🏫💙

Previous Level 1 Volunteers: Because our process has changed, you will need to reapply for this school year.
