Mrs. Kriener's fifth grade students participated in a hands-on learning activity to create the water cycle in a cup!
Each of the materials represented an important element of the water cycle and students were responsible for describing the process after their observations. The cup of warm water represented large bodies of water, such as oceans, rivers, and lakes, while the plastic wrap over the cup represented the Earth's atmosphere. Students placed ice cubes on top of the plastic wrap to cool the atmosphere and watched as the water evaporated and created condensation. After time passed, students gently tapped on the plastic wrap, watching the condensation fall back into the cup as precipitation 🌧️

On November 3, Clay County voters will consider the renewal of the existing One Mill ad valorem funding for four years (July 1, 2027 – June 30, 2031).
Because this measure is a renewal of the existing operating millage, it continues current funding without increasing tax rates. Revenues are strictly dedicated to two operational priorities:
School Safety: Funding law enforcement contracts for campus officers.
Employee Compensation: Providing competitive pay to retain and attract quality teachers and support staff.

Our third grade students are learning how to dance the Samba and identify musical instruments from South America. Pioneers then used this knowledge to write their own ostinatos, or rhythmic patterns!

Mrs. Adams' 6th graders teamed up with Ms. Davis' VPK class for a fun hands-on learning experience! Our sixth grade students got real world practice with fractions, especially when some of the measuring cup sizes were missing 😉 and they had to determine equivalent fractions with the tools that they were provided!
Both class enjoyed some delicious cake after their hard work 🎂

⚡ Charge Into Fire Safety! ⚡
It’s Fire Prevention Week, and this year’s theme is all about safe charging! As technology plays a big role in our everyday lives, we are reminding our OneClay community that safe charging is a superpower.
🔌 Plug in. Power up. Stay safe.
To keep our homes and schools safe, make sure you are using your 6 Charging Superpowers:
• Cheap charger? Don't chance it. Use the cord and charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer.
• Soft surface? Hard pass. Charge on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk, or bare floor.
• Fully charged? Time to unplug. Unplug your device when it is fully charged.
• For tools and rides, charge outside. Charge large items like e-bikes, scooters, and power tools outside when possible, and never block exits when charging.
• Feels hot? Stop using it. Stop using your device if it feels very hot, starts to swell, smells strange, leaks, smokes, or makes popping or hissing sounds.
• On a flight? Keep it in sight. Keep devices where you can see them while charging on an airplane, and tell a flight attendant if you notice a problem.
