Students are actively developing their essay writing skills, concentrating on the standard: ELA.6.C.1.3 which emphasizes writing and supporting a claim using logical reasoning, relevant evidence from sources, elaboration, and a coherent organizational structure with varied transitions.
After taking notes on the structure and features of an argumentative essay, students are analyzing sample essays in conjunction with the state rubric and assess whether each essay aligns with the required structure and characteristics, ranking the essays from strongest to weakest. Way to go Mrs. Harrington sixth grade Pioneers!
