The terrific "Talon Techs" from Wilkinson Junior High, led by their coach Mr. Neil Mckenzie, have qualified for the Florida Championship for the FIRST Tech Challenge after their performance in the Northeast Florida league tournament this past weekend. They secured 3rd place out of 32 teams at the league tournament and are currently ranked 9th out of 232 teams in the state. The championship is scheduled for the weekend of February 28th in Winter Haven, FL. Please join us in wishing them good luck!

Superintendent Broskie, in partnership with Florida Prepaid, will once again award two Clay County District Schools' current seniors a 2-year Florida Prepaid college scholarship valued at $8,000.

For the third year, Green Cove Springs Junior High students experienced a unique lesson in civics firsthand. The school partnered with the U.S. District Court and USCIS to host a Naturalization Ceremony for 50 new American citizens. Chief United States District Judge Marcia Morales Howard presided over the ceremony, and student leaders participated alongside faculty and the student body, witnessing a powerful demonstration of the American dream.
Congratulations to Angel C. from Green Cove Springs Junior for being recognized as the Superintendent Super Student of the Month for the junior high category! Angel is an exemplary student who shines in and out of the classroom! She is a role model for her peers and consistently demonstrates the Cougars LEAD Attributes: Learn, Engage, Accelerate, and Deliver. Beyond academics, Angel was an integral part of the Girls Soccer Team Championship win this season. Way to go, Angel!

Congressman Aaron Bean paid a visit today to read to students and celebrate their academic achievements.
