A vibrant sea of purple swept through Clay County District Schools today as we stood together for Purple Up! Day.
Across our entire district—from our youngest learners to our graduating seniors—we wore purple to send a clear message to our military-connected students: We see you, we support you, and we are so incredibly proud of you.
Purple represents the combination of all military branch colors, but to us, it represents the strength, resilience, and bravery of the children who serve right alongside their parents. Whether they are navigating a new school, saying "see you later" during a deployment, or making new friends, our military kids show us every day what it means to be "military strong."
As the beautiful banner in one of our hallways says:
"Military kids bloom where the wind carries them." 🌼🌬️
To our military families: thank you for your service and for allowing us to be a part of your children’s journey. Today and every day, Clay County is honored to be a place where your children can bloom.
Give this post a 'Like' or 'Heart' to help us send a wave of purple appreciation across our community!

Last Monday, April 6th, was the "coolest" day of the year for our GPE Gators! GPE hosted the Jacksonville Icemen for an unforgettable Icemen Experience Day. ❄️🥅
Our students dove into a day of creativity and action, from coloring pictures of their favorite players to collecting precious autographs—some of which definitely found a "permanent" home on a few lucky arms and hands! 😂✍️
The energy stayed high as students hit the pavement for warmups, hockey drills, and a spirited game of street hockey alongside the pros. We wrapped up the day with a community lunch where every student received their very own hard hat and a reusable ice pack to keep them cool as summer approaches. ☀️👷♂️
A massive thank you to the Jacksonville Icemen, the Zawyer Sports Foundation, and the NORLEE Group for your incredible generosity! Thank you for making this day possible and for inspiring the next generation of athletes and leaders both on and off the ice.
