This week we will have FAST PM1 testing. Students should report to their Homeroom first thing on Tuesday and Thursday mornings to begin testing. We completed a test run this afternoon so students knew where to find their Homeroom.

What a fantastic evening for the battle of the lakes! The weather was wonderful but Lakeside fell to Lake Asbury in a competitive matchup. Thank you to the Lakeside band and Lakeside cheerleaders for helping to keep spirits high for the spectators.

Today was nacho day at lunch! This lunch can take a little longer to serve, but Deputy Hutton jumped in to make sure students had their lunch in a timely fashion.
Thank goodness our cafeteria staff lent him a hair net - we didn't want any student to get his hair in their food!
Deputy Hutton is always stepping in to help and we are so grateful to have him on our campus!

This week, students in Ms. Morris' classes have been introduced to thinking classrooms. Students learned expectations for how to work together while also solving some fun problems. Ms. Morris said on the first day of school, students were hesitant to participate, standing back and wondering why they had to do it. By day 3, those same students were participating in the conversation at the whiteboards and taking lead in their groups. We can't wait to see how these students continue to grow the rest of the school year!

Some more team building in Mrs. Slater's classes today! Students had to build a tower of cups with a rubber band and string. They were not able to talk or write things down to communicate on how to build the towers, but somehow they found a way! Way to go, Gators!

Yesterday, students in Ms. Magpiong's class worked in partner groups to solve the problem of "Saving Sam." It was such a fun activity and it Ms. Magpiong was able to learn a little about her new students. We're looking forward to a great year!
