⚡ Charge Into Fire Safety! ⚡
It’s Fire Prevention Week, and this year’s theme is all about safe charging! As technology plays a big role in our everyday lives, we are reminding our OneClay community that safe charging is a superpower.
🔌 Plug in. Power up. Stay safe.
To keep our homes and schools safe, make sure you are using your 6 Charging Superpowers:
• Cheap charger? Don't chance it. Use the cord and charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer.
• Soft surface? Hard pass. Charge on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk, or bare floor.
• Fully charged? Time to unplug. Unplug your device when it is fully charged.
• For tools and rides, charge outside. Charge large items like e-bikes, scooters, and power tools outside when possible, and never block exits when charging.
• Feels hot? Stop using it. Stop using your device if it feels very hot, starts to swell, smells strange, leaks, smokes, or makes popping or hissing sounds.
• On a flight? Keep it in sight. Keep devices where you can see them while charging on an airplane, and tell a flight attendant if you notice a problem.

Mrs. Gamble's Class - Fun Friday centers!
We learned about the sun this week and made a sun facts mobile to combine science and writing, to record some of the facts we learned!
Students practiced sight word recognition and reading fluency to strengthen their accuracy and confidence as readers!
They also had fun with legos and Play-Doh, practicing doubles addition facts!

Mrs. Krohn’s 4th grade students “buddied up” with Mrs. Fender’s 2nd grade students to have hands-on learning while continuing to build connections amongst grade levels. Both classes have been learning about rocks and minerals. They enjoyed their Science time together seeing the rock cycle in action with Air Heads candy. They were able to apply pressure, time, and heat to see the different changes, and eventually made “magma”.

“The Little Indian Island!"
Mrs KiKi wanted to create a special, dedicated space just for them to learn library etiquette, browse books independently & feel special about having their own “smaller bookshelf” area just like the rest of the older grade levels have all throughout the Library!
“The Little Indian Island” has been a hit this past month!
It makes them feel special, proud & they’re doing so well with the new set up from start to finish with Mrs. KiKi❤️🤍💙
