GREEN COVE SPRINGS, FL – Clay County District Schools is proud to announce a historic milestone in academic excellence, as 154 students from across the district have been honored with Cambridge Learner Awards for their exceptional performance during the June 2025 examination series. These prestigious awards, issued by Cambridge International Education, recognize students who have demonstrated mastery and dedication in a curriculum studied by over a million students worldwide.
In a congratulatory message to the district, Jeffery Brewer of Cambridge International Education commended the "phenomenal achievement" of these students, noting the district's commitment to providing a world-class education. The awards are divided into several elite categories, marking achievements that range from local excellence to global dominance.
Recognizing Global and National Excellence
The Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards are categorized to highlight various levels of academic mastery:
Top in the World: Awarded to learners who achieved the highest standard mark in the entire world for an individual subject.
Top in Country: Reserved for students who earned the highest standard mark in the United States for an individual subject.
High Achievement: Awarded to students who achieved the highest standard mark in the country in a less widely taken subject.
Best Across: Awarded to learners with the highest cumulative total standard marks in the country over a specific range of subjects, including eight Cambridge IGCSEs, four International AS Levels, or three International A Levels.
The 2025 Scholar Awards
In addition to individual subject honors, the Cambridge Scholar Awards recognize students who maintained high grades across multiple examinations. These are categorized as:
Scholar Award with Distinction: Achieved by students earning at least $3 \times A$ grades or higher at Cambridge IGCSE or International A/AS Level.
Scholar Award with Merit: Achieved by students earning at least $3 \times B$ grades or higher at Cambridge IGCSE or International A/AS Level.
Cambridge Scholar Award: Achieved by students earning at least $3 \times C$ grades or higher at the Cambridge International A/AS Level.
