Welcome to Orange Park Junior High!

I am proud to be an Assistant Principal here at the school. This will be an exciting year with new students and new classes.

This will be my 13th year in education. I started teaching middle school science in Duval county before transferring to Clay County to join Lakeside Junior High. I transferred to Ridgeview High School to teach science then came to Orange Park Junior High as the Dean of Students.

I believe every one of our students is unique and deserves the best education we can provide. They should come to Orange Park Junior High and find an environment that allows them to feel safe, welcomed and accepted for who they are. They should be able to grow emotionally, intellectually and socially in their early teen years. They should feel safe in our school to take academic risks in a collaborative environment that will push them outside their academic comfort zones and allow them to grow in new ways. When they leave OPJH, they should be ready to enter high school as a well adjusted, academically prepared student. Even though 7th and 8th grade is only two years, these are the most important formative years that will prepare them for a successful transition into our community. It is my hope that all our kids will become lifelong learners and members of society that excel in their individual futures and help make our world a better place.
