Dear Parents and Community Members,
Welcome to the Oakleaf High School website! We are excited about your visit and hope to answer all your questions about the Knights and tell the story of our Castle and it’s family.
Oakleaf High School was opened in 2010 to support the Clay County neighborhoods of Oakleaf and Argyle. We are proud of our beautiful school and the accomplishments we have achieved in our short life. The school is home to 2450 students grade 9-12 and is currently rated a top “B” school with a graduation rate of 93.8%.
Parents and community members are an integral part of educating young people as it takes a TEAM in today’s society and communication is the key. We encourage parents to create online accounts for real time information on student’s grades, attendance, and discipline. Every teacher has a personal email for parent communication, we encourage teachers to maintain an updated website and finally encourage parent conferences as interventions for student success if needed. I send out weekly messages on Sunday nights for upcoming events, announcements or general information.
Since students are our business, we try to recognize and reward students as much as possible. For example, we have a Honor Roll breakfast every quarter, recognize perfect attendance on a monthly basis, and provide teachers with cookie passes for students they see “doing the right thing”. We also “shout out” seniors that have been accepted to college or universities on morning announcements along with any students grade 9-12 that have received an award. In short, OHS believes in creating a positive learning culture for our family.
We also have high expectations for students in the area of academics, behavior and attendance which has proven a successful model based on our 93.8% graduation rate.
So welcome to OHS and enjoy exploring our great story!
