The Clay County Title 1 department had its first of three Parent Advisory Council meetings showcasing our theme of "One Clay..Past, Present and Future". 28 parents attended as we started the year with a look into Clay County's past. Our meeting began with a tour of the old jail in Green Cove Springs. Vishi Garig, Archives Specialist, gave our attendees a look into the historical past of our county. Our next stop was the original Clay County courthouse. There, we heard a presentation from Deborah Mueller, president of Clay County Teen Court, about choices , outcomes and what teen court was and how it served our students. Mrs. Evelyn Chastain then told our parents all about Clay County's Title 1 program for 2015-16. She explained what it was, how it was funded and what that meant for parents and students at their respective school. As the meeting concluded, parents enjoyed a lunch at Spring Park courtesy of the Title 1 department. Our next PAC meeting will be on February 18th and will take a look into Clay County's "present". Be on the look out for the time and place. We hope to see you!
